  1. I agree, that is good advice.
  2. I find that very ironic.
  3. I'd consult with your sensei, who will pass along the request to whomever will know how to get information on dojos in the area you're going to be in. Its how I've been told to find out by my own sensei.
  4. I wouldn't have done it any other way, Mr. Mike.
  5. It is a good topic, our sensei takes us through drills to block/counter left-handed techniques as well as right-handed ones. Its a good aspect of our training.
  6. That's hilarious! Poor dog!
  7. That young fellow needs some counselling. If he continues on the path he's following, he may be doing that for the rest of his life. I doubt anyone would want to have that happen to his future family, and possibly children. Telling him this may not help, perhaps you should talk to your parents, so they can speak to his own parents.
  8. If I go to all 4 classes per week, which is something I do a lot, I end up paying $1.25 per hour for the training. Wow, I never thought of it that way.
  9. I tend to agree, personality is a key factor. But so is understanding. The philosophies of the art is very important, and could a 6 year old understand? I doubt they could understand it, but I know they could understand the teachings of not it being violent. Personally, I think 8 would be the youngest to start out training.
  10. For all the dan grades, in pretty much all the styles I'm familiar with, there is a certification process. In Shotokan you receive a certificate for each kyu and dan grade you earn.
  11. Wow, no comment.
  12. Whenever I want a good laugh I check out the useless stuff on that site.
  13. I'm sorry, I just can't get the picture of dyeing a dog out of my head...
  14. I find even the advanced kata still have a lot of basic techniques in them.
  15. That took guts. I'm glad you know exactly where you are in your training.
  16. Right on, I didn't know that Elvis Stojko did Hun-Gar. So who's-who in this photo (other than Elvis)?
  17. I don't think I have anyone artist or song that is my favourite. I like a lot of of different styles, and artists.
  18. You listen to the song, on your computer or whatever, and usually it goes away.
  19. Be sure to let us know how it went.
  20. Indeed! Happy Easter everyone!
  21. Oh shucks and here I am thinking it just showed up magicaly.
  22. Yes, good luck.
  23. I pretty much do enudrance training, I'm not really in it to gear up with a lot of muscles.
