I don't think there are any real secrets let out of the bag. But it was mildly entertaining. Also, I'm pretty sure there aren't any active XMA practitioners on this board. There was a topic posted about it a while ago and no one piped up.
My father is 65 and he's practiced Shin-Shin Toitsu Aikido, Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, PPCT, and Tai Chi. I'm trying to convince him to start up Karate though.
It is a type of exercise using explosive movements to develop muscular power, esp. bounding, hopping, and jumping. Many use it for teaching kids, but it is quite good to help develop some good energy.

Excellent! That is very good. Learning katas will come in time. As they perform their own katas just concentrate on yours, don't bother trying to learn theirs right away.
Well Venrix let me begin by saying I respect your opinion. But I do not agree with it completely. I have faught against judoka and noted the art's effectiveness first hand. As in many things I feel it depends on the person fighting, his training experience, and instruction.
I'm sure there are some little things, more subtler movements that would be uniquely yours. The diagram doesn't pass along the true feel of the techniques.

The rank system goes by how many posts you've made. If you aren't happy with the teaching I suggest you speak with your instructor. Letting him/her know that you are interested in the internals, spirituals, and philosphies of your style is important. If the instructor can't/doesn't want to do that, I suggest you locate another place to train.
