We call people from Ohio and Indiana flatlanders for good reason, until you get towards the river.

Last month a very pretty young woman pulled open a door at the same time I was pushing to enter the store and she declined to go first even after I said "after you". That caught me off gaurd so much that I was wondering if the age before beauty thing applies to me now that I'm a third of a century old.

Ahh yes, Zakk rocks. One my favorites from him is on a Guitars that Rule the World CD. Starts out as a Kentucky blue grass type pickin and then explodes, complete with barnyard animal sounds. I wish I had half his skill so that I could get some use outa my Ibanez. Instead it sits and collects dust. And, nice job, DocVet.

[quote name="Pepparoo I've started doing Kuk Sool Won' date=' done it for 3 odd months now n I feel ive taken to it fairly well. When I took my White belt/yellow stripe I was ready to do my Yellow belt but it would be pretty arrogant to do that. I think its much better to perfect what you already know, n become inch perfect in the forms/techniques whatever's being leant. Just out of interest, in TKD are there armlock techniques as they are in KSW or is it all just kicks n forms?[/quote] You'll find that the more tests you take in KSW (or any style for that matter) the better you will perform. Especially when you get up into blue and red belt, the techniques you will have to remember is not something you want to rush into and find you've forgotten during the test. All those tests between belt colors are extra practice, not just for remembering the material, but also for getting used to testing itself. Not being nervous helps recalling all those techniques you need to perform.

The guitarist. Ya know the song Cat Scratch Fever?

Just joking. But if he did, he'd have an instructional video out for it.

I think Ted Nugent tried that once. Naked hunting with bare hands, that is.

Picking a Club and a Style

Yup, local colleges can have a nice selection of styles to choose from. But, don't pay the regular tuition if there is an extended adult education program available. That way you can eliminate a lot of the fees that a for-credit class would require. -

You got that right. Next question: How do you know if the instructor is good? You'll just have to attend or observe a class and see how they instruct the beginners. If you feel comfortable with it try it out for a month. -
My thoughts exactly.

Yes. I'm a member of PETA. People for Eating Tasty Animals. And I love to make my chili with venison. Gives ya great gas.

If you people only knew what cheese factories smelled like, you would probably never eat it again.

No, but I had some instructors that reminded me of Satan.

Fingertip Strike

Hope that is a good lesson to those who think it won't hurt. -
You might be stretching too much in too quick a time.

Must have sharp fingernails. -
It all comes down to only using forces necessary to control the situation. If a drunk guy bumps into you and says he's gonna kick your butt, you better not crush his windpipe unless you are prepared to be in court. Now if he's about to cut you up with a broken bottle, then you can tee off with your driver, if you know what I mean. Laws vary from state to state, country to country.

The article is asking why our leadership is so weak considering the population size we are able to choose from. It points to how the Framers of the Constitution were cast from a very small population, yet, were of better quality compared to what we have today. So the question is why? One side note that might be worth mentioning. Quite a few of the Framers/supporters were not just average people during that time. Many were wealthy businessmen (bankers, lawyers, etc.) put their life on the line to become free. A fair amount of these men lost their lives, property and family when the British found out who they were. Today, many of our political leaders are still businessmen (and women), but do you think they would risk their life for even a lesser cause?

I almost punched out my monitor while taking that test.

Your teacher is not a doctor. They are not trained to diagnose nor advise. From my past experience with orthopaedic doctors, they would normally advise to wear the brace until you are strong enough to not need it anymore. However, if the damage cannot be corrected and renders the joint weak, then the brace can be used whenever you are training. You might want to ask a physical therapist or physician if it persists for a while. They might just recommend rest. I am coming off a grade 2-3 ankle inversion that had sidelined me for months. If you tore something, it'll take time to heal.

And a job well done by everyone who responded. Normally a thread like this would be closed by now, but it looks like everyone used their brain before their mouth. It's just too bad that the media portrays gun owners as podunk hillbillies that have confederate flags in the back windows of their pickup trucks.

Yes, Telsun, that is correct. There will be no personal ridicule allowed anywhere in the forums (unless it's by me, heh heh).

Shrinks aren't quite right either.
