  1. For what it is worth (which is nothing) here are my predicted first round winners: Carolina, Tampa Bay, NY Rangers, and Boston in the east. Winnipeg, Nashville, Edmonton, and Vegas in the west. (I am only picking Vegas because I had Vegas vs Carolina in the finals before the season, I actually think Dallas will win.) OK, I masterfully played both sides of the fence on that last pick, so I am sure to get at least one series correct.
  2. I've only been watching UFC for a few years, but the BMF fight on Saturday was the craziest fight I have seen.
  3. Nnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooo to the bold type above. I was afraid that would happen. The Stars are super-hot and the Knights play on the Stars ice. And of course, the 7th place Ducks in the Pacific quacked all over the Knights on the Knights last game of the regular season on Knights ice by the score of 4-1. GO KNIGHTS!! If you are looking for a confidence booster, just remember that Vegas won all three regular season games against Dallas this season, and Vegas might get some healthy players back in time for Monday's game 1.
  4. First round playoff matchups in the east: Rangers vs Capitals Panthers vs Lightning Hurricanes vs Islanders Bruins vs Maple Leafs In the west: Stars vs Golden Knights Jets vs Avalanche Kings vs Oilers Canucks vs Predators
  5. Fleury is coming back to Minnesota. Wild signed him to a one-year contract extension.
  6. Rumors of Tom Brady coming back to play with the Vikings. Brady will turn 47 in August. I'd like to say this sounds too crazy to be true, but it is the NFL, so who knows.
  7. I remember one. It was when I was in TKD and preparing for my first tournament. I was a green belt and was entering the weapons competition. I was doing my Nunchucks form in front of the class, and instead of going to between my legs I hit myself right in the crotch. No cup either. People were both laughing and worried that I was injured. It wasn't as bad as it looked, but for a moment there I turned Nunchucks into Nutchucks.
  8. Washington got the final playoff spot in the east, meaning they will face the NY Rangers in the first round, Rangers finished the season with the best record in the NHL. Winnipeg has locked up second place in the central division, but there are still some other seedings that need to be sorted out over the next couple of days. We do know all the teams that are in it. NY Rangers, NY Islanders, Boston, Florida, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Toronto and Washinton. Vancouver, Dallas, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Colorado, Nashville, Vegas, and Los Angeles.
  9. So much for that. McDavid played on Monday and got assist number 100, making him one of only four players in league history to have 100 assists in a single season. The last time it happened was in 1991 when Gretzky had 122. The other two players are Bobby Orr and Mario Lemieux. The NY Islanders have clinched leaving only one playoff spot left. Detroit, Washington, and Pittsburg each have one game left (all on the road), Detroit and Washington have 89 points, Pitt has 88. Wings play in Montreal on Wednesday, Caps play in Philly as well, then Pitt plays at NY Islanders on Thursday.
  10. The dude is loony tunes. A talented player but not a team first guy, and he eats up a big chuck of the salary cap. Vikings fans are saying right now "see, we told ya so!" Yeah it seems an odd one though his production did drop off quite a bit during the year. Maybe they think he is no longer a No.1 receiver going forwards and won't tolerate his attitude any more. One i am still disappointed by is not going in for Henry. I genuinely think he would have made the difference and pushed the team over the edge. Here's hoping the Bills manage to take advantage of the QB heavy nature of this draft to nab an excellent WR near the end of the first round Someone told me that Diggs and Josh Allen were not getting along, not sure if that is accurate.
  11. Auston Matthews is at 69 goals, McDavid is at 99 assists. The Oilers might sit McDavid the rest of the regular season though, make sure he is good to go for the playoffs.
  12. The card delivered. Though after the Holloway KO the rest of the night felt somewhat anti climatic to me, because the Holloway fight was so crazy with an even crazier ending, it seemed to blow out the room. Lots of good fights and iconic moments, including Alex waving off Herb Dean then ten seconds later knocking out Hill. A fantastic event. This was my first time ever ordering a PPV as usually I watch the fights outside the house, but it was worth it.
  13. I felt bad for Fleury. That was rough.
  14. The LA Kings have clinched a playoff spot and Vegas can lock up one tonight if they win against Minnesota and if St. Louis were to lose in regulation.
  15. OJ Simpson died of cancer on Wednesday. It is an absolute sinful level of injustice that OJ Simpson outlived Norm MacDonald.
  16. I think I am going to donate them to Goodwill. Great idea, Ken. I have no idea if Goodwill has any use for them, but I hope they do.
  17. The mayor of Scottsdale rejected the idea of building an arena for the Coyotes, despite the area proposal being exclusive private money. The Coyotes are running out of time and options to strike a deal in Arizona, and news today about how the team and the league are working together to get the team sold and then move it to Salt Lake City. RIP Arizona Coyotes.
  18. I think I am going to donate them to Goodwill.
  19. Nashville lost in OT on Tuesday against Winnipeg but getting that one point in the standings was enough to clinch a playoff berth. With Tampa recently getting into the playoffs in the east, we now have six teams in each conference that are in, and two spots remaining. It looks like Vegas and LA will get those spots out west, but in the east it is tighter. Washington beat Detroit in regulation Tuesday so now New York Islanders and Washington are in the playoff positions, but this can change day by day. There is a big game on Thursday between Detroit and Pittsburgh. Both teams are in the playoff hunt but currently on the outside, a win is crucial to both teams. Ten days till the playoffs start!
  20. The dude is loony tunes. A talented player but not a team first guy, and he eats up a big chuck of the salary cap. Vikings fans are saying right now "see, we told ya so!"
  21. Doesn't seem to be much interest about the card on this forum. Hope you enjoy the night. I am looking forward to it!
  22. The Marlins Yankees games on Monday had to be moved to a different time because of the eclipse. The Yankees won 7-0. The Marlins are 1-10, the worst start in MLB this year and it ties them for the worst 11 game start in team history with the 1998 Marlins who lost 108 games (their 0-9 start was the worst in team history through nine games). The 1997 Marlins (then Florida Marlins) won the World Series after spending a lot of money on free agents, but the owner did a fire sale after the seasons because the team lost 80 million dollars. They became the first and I believe still only team in MLB history to win the World Series then lose over 100 games the following season. Miami snuck into the playoffs last year only to be humiliated by Philadelphia.
  23. If they win two of those games they should be in great shape, and three of the teams on that schedule are not playoff teams. Knights will get in,
  24. Only two games in the NHL on Monday. Toronto beat Pittsburg in regulation so the Penguins miss a chance to increase their playoff odds. Big game on Tuesday between Detroit and Washington, all who are fighting for that final playoff spot. The NY Islanders and Philly are also in the mix. Two of those teams will make it, three will not. Right now NY and Detroit are in the best position. Vegas and Vancouver is still active, the game is tied at three in the second period.
  25. I thought that the A's leaving could increase attendance as a farewell this season, but the fans are so fed up with ownership that attendance might drop even further. I don't blame them, ownership ruined that team. I wouldn't spend a penny on them either. I am a full believer in being a bandwagon fan, no reason to give my time and money to some millionaires and billionaires who are not providing a decent product. I root for the same teams, but I don't put time or money into them when they stink year after year, Yeah, I can easily see why the A's decided to move to a Triple A venue next season. I doubt that the A's will be able to fill that venue either. The A's don't sell out at the Triple A venue here in Las Vegas, The Aviators, whenever they play here. Btw, the A's already lose a lot whenever they're here in Las Vegas during the few games they play here during the MLB pre-season. I'd imagine the new stadium would sell tickets just based on interest in seeing it, and because many Vegas residents are transplants who will go to see their team, the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, ect. From what I hear at Raiders games about half the fans are cheering for the visitors. I would expect that to be the case when the A's arrive. Voters in Kansas City recently voted down a proposal to stick taxpayers with money for a new Royals stadium, so maybe the trend of taxpayer funded stadiums will start to die out. What happened in Minnesota was that taxpayers did not want to pay for a new stadium, but the Vikings owner threatened to move the team to Los Angles (this was back in 2010 when LA did not have a team) and the governor supported keeping the team and the taxpayers got stuck paying hundreds of millions of dollars for the new stadium. Now that the Royals stadium funding was voted down, I'd expect the team either to threaten to move or to shake down the elected officials and find a way to stick the taxpayers with paying for at least part of the new stadium. That is how it often happens. Only a handful of NFL stadiums are funded exclusively with private money. I am not sure what it is for baseball, I doubt it is much different.
