Regular season will start on October 8. Wow, it feels like hockey season just ended and we are already less than a month away from it starting again. Summer always goes by fast. -
Same. According to my monitor I burned 700 calories in an hour workout on Thursday, but I have no idea if that is accurate, or how accurate it is about heart rate itself. I was not started yet and was already at 93 heart rate, which does not make sense

I'm liking the icon on the bottom right where I can give a thanks or thumbs up to a post. -
It is coming along. I am starting to feel like it has become part of my routine, which is good. I began wearing a heart rate monitor during my workouts this week to track my heart rate and calories burned. I'm also drinking a protein shake after every workout.

Makes perfect sense to me. Good answers.

What are some of the most useful lessons you have gotten out of martial arts training that were not based on technique? For me it was probably disciple and respect for authority. As a young adult I did not have enough of that. I'd also say the element of self-control. When I was in Hapkido we were told "self-defense is an extension of self-control," and "we can't control what others do but we can always be in control of ourselves." I remember in my early 20s being so frustrated when I couldn't get people to do what I wanted. I would not like how they acted, tried to convince them to do something different, and they often ignored me and said, "I do what I want." Martial Arts helped me learn to accept that I can't control the decisions others make, and I learned to let go, embracing my own free will more.

Looks like there are more emoji options now, which I like, and I like that we can see how many points we are away from the next rank. These changes are an improvement. I will post others as I come across them. -

Now with week one in the books, how are you feeling about your team? I always think week one is the toughest to predict and often the sloppiest week of the season. Lots of penalties in the games this week, that should improve as the season goes on but it does get frustrating watching games that have so many penalties. We see too many penalties all season. I did not enter an elimination league this year but of the few people I know who did have already been defeated. They all had the Bengals beating the Patriots. In one league 66% of the people picked the Bengals as their pick of the week, so on opening Sunday afternoon already 2/3 of the league is done for the season. If your team lost, don't worry, it's only one game. Last year KC lost the opener and won the Super Bowl, in other years teams have looked bad in week one and even week two but went on to have great seasons. Also, if your team won, don't get too excited, it is the same deal. The 2003 Vikings started 6-0 and missed the playoffs. Week one doesn't tell us much, typically.

Bugs? Errors? Things That Are Missing?

I thought maybe I read that you had mentioned this but then I looked again and did not see it, so if it has been addressed already then, my mistake. At the top of the page it just reads "ad space" and there are not any ads showing. Not sure if they should be ads there, or if the block is not supposed to be there, or what that is. -
The curse has not kicked in yet, Lions win week 1 in OT against the Rams 26-20.

I'm sorry to report this tragic story. Blue Jackets winger Johnny Gaudreau (31 years old), and his brother Matthew (29 years old), were both killed while bike riding on August 29th in New Jersey. They were hit by a car and died at the scene. It is believed that the driver was intoxicated. The brothers were visiting the area for their sister's weeding Friday in Philadelphia. Lions are one of four teams to never make the Super Bowl along with the Browns, Texans, and Jaguars. Lions are the only team in the league that have existed during the entire Super Bowl era and never made it.

Well, you never know! They might break the curse!Curse or not, 66 years since earning an NFC Championship, way back in 1957, the year I was born, is quite a very long time of looking in. The Lions curse just might stand against time. 11 playoffs for the Lions, since 1957, came with quite some surprise back in 2016. The Lions made it to the NFC Championship after having bested the Rams and Tampa Bay, but the 49ers shattered the Lions dreams. 66 years is some draught!! But hey, the Chicago Cubs ended their 108-year curse by winning the World Series against the Cleavland Indians, 4-3 games back in 2016. So, if the Cubs knocked off the curse monkey off their backs, then there's no reason that the Lions can get the curse monkey off their backs. Just in case the Lions needed any help screwing things up, here comes SI to the recue.
