Remember the days when the football and baseball teams shared a stadium? You'd have football players running through the infield and looking like they stole second after every play. That was common 25 years ago but now they all have separate stadiums.

I was a little worried I was getting too dark. I don't think it is strange to want to pass things along after you die, it is part of a legacy, leaving something important behind to remind people of what you were about. Also, others will benefit from the information. Different people have different ideas of what they want to do. I had a martial arts instructor tell me that he wants to be buried in his dobok.

Wild back and forth game on Sunday between the Lions and Chargers with the Lions winning 41-38 on a FG as time ran out. Both teams were very aggressive. I tried to watch the 49ers and Jaguars but it was so lopsided I lost interest early. I can't get a read on SF, when they play well they look like they can beat anyone but when they are off, they look very mediocre. Well, I guess we could say that about a lot of teams. Ugly game by Mac Jones and another Patriots loss. Jones was benched in the 4th quarter after a terrible interception in the red zone. Jones has made some awful throws at key moments this season and they have proven to be costly. Looks like the Mac Jones experiment is done in New England, my guess is he gets traded in the offseason. The question now is, what about Belichick? Does he come back next year? Does he even make it to the end of this year?

DarthPenguins Training log of an unfit person!

Is there anything you suggest for getting some exercise while feeling sick? Not anything strenuous, just something to get moving. I have been sick with a head cold all week, went to the gym yesterday and could tell within under 5 minutes that this wasn't gonna work, and went home. -
Somewhat tagging the "Meaning of Life" thread, what are some ways you have learned to accept and cope with death? Death of a relative, friend, a pet, or the inevitable death of yourself? About five years ago I lost someone close to me and I think I still have not fully recovered. Ever since then I have been thinking about how long I will live on a daily basis and sometimes just go to bed thankful that "I lived through another day." I am healthy and don't have a reason to believe it's likely I will die soon but I know that life can change fast and anyone can die on any given day. I have some trouble accepting that.

Very succinctly put! Would agree it distils things down though once you go up a layer then the complexities and difficulties crop up (different peoples ideas of what is good etc.) though that opens up a whole other can of worms! It definitely does. One person's idea of good is the next person's idea of sin. Going back to bushido's point, I agree that we want to find meaning and many humans spend years of their lives searching for that without getting satisfying answers. Some would argue that there is no universal meaning to life and that it is up to the individual to decide what matter to them and live based on those values. This idea seems to make sense to me, the meaning of life is whatever we make it out to be, but it also feels a little too open ended.

After the loss to San Jose last night there has been a lot of talk about the Oilers maybe changing their head coach. They won't, yet. However if they lose on Saturday in Seattle then heads could roll. Saturday is the last game of the road trip and the ownership will look at options then. Hard to imagine the Oilers having a start like this. I thought that the meltdown on Tuesday was rock bottom, and they would bounce back and win against the Sharks, but they only scored two goals against a poor San Jose defense. Meanwhile the Sharks are on a two-game winning streak and go for three in a row in Vegas tonight. Knights have lost two straight so we will see if these trends continue. Doubt it. I expect Vegas to win big. Boston has the best record in the NHL as of this posting and are actually on pace to have a better regular season than a year ago when they set the all time record for wins. I don't expect them to keep this pace all season but they are sure off to a good start. Vancouver is also crushing it right now. -
Now I'm sick and I still can't get anyone over here to fix the floors or remove the mold. Seems to be one problem after another around here lately.

Congratulations to the San Jose Sharks on their first win of the season! They beat Philadelphia 2-1 Tuesday night and now every team in the league has at least one win. Sharks play at home against Edmonton on Thursday and with how bad the Oilers have been the Sharks could go on a two-game winning streak. No, seriously, the Oilers self-destructed against the Vancouver the other night in an embarrassing 6-2 loss. Maybe that was rock bottom, and they are going to turn it around but so far it has been a terrible start to the year for the Oilers. -
Another loss for the Patriots now 2-7 on the season. Lots of talk about how Bill Belichick might be out of a job soon. Is it time for the Patriots to fire Belichick?

Devils win against Chicago 4-2 and NJ keeps winning even though Jack Hughes is out with an injury. The Ducks hand Vegas their first regulation loss of the season, now every team in the league has at least one regulation loss this year. Ducks are a young team and a franchise that hasn't been to the playoffs in a while, but they are looking good early this year, currently on a six-game winning streak. -

Boston loses to Detroit 5-4 and Boston has now suffered their first regulation loss, dropping them to 9-1-1. Vegas is the best team in the league right now, they dominated Colorado tonight 7-0 and have not lost in regulation this year, the only team that can still say that. They are 11-0-1, somehow losing an OT game to Chicago last week. I feel back for Sharks fans. Sharks lost 10-2 tonight after losing 10-1 on Thursday making it the first time since 1965 that a team has given up 10 or more goals in back-to-back games. They drop to 0-10-1. Hey Minnesota got a win and cooled off the NY Rangers, 5-4 in a SO. Other winners included Vancouver, Calgary, Washington, NY Islanders, Chicago, Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Carolina, St, Louis, and the LA Kings. Both the Devils and Ducks were off Saturday but see action on Sunday, NJ is in Chicago and Anaheim is in Anaheim where they will try and defeat Vegas. -

Busy day in the NHL with 15 games, Devils and Ducks are the only two teams that are idle. Oilers continue to struggle losing today against Nashville. They fall to 2-7-1. Winnipeg broke a four-game losing streak by beating Arizona. San Jose, who lost 10-1 to Vancouver the other night, might be able to get their first win of the season against the Penguins, who have also struggled early. The red hot NY Rangers are in Minnesota, and the big game of the night is the last one, Colorado at Vegas, the top two teams in the West, and the last two Stanley Cup winners, face off for the first time this year. Exciting day of early November hockey. -
Agreed. The characters are lacking compared to Niles, Daphne, Roz, and Martin. There was such great chemistry between those characters and they fit so well together. I plan to stick with it for a while to see where it goes but I do hope it starts to improve.

Not good! Hopefully you can get it sorted soon and get the heating back up and running too Thanks. Water heater has been replaced so I have hot water and the leaking has stopped. Carpet is dried now but will need to be replaced. It was due anyway; it's old and falling apart.

What did you think of his decision to bench Garoppolo straight away? Seemed quite surprising to me and a little risky for an interim coach who presumably wants the permanent job! I believe that Garoppolo's benching was appropriate because he has been quite inconsistent as a QB. Appears that the interim coach has the Raiders interest in mind. How it'll reflect on the gridiron is another thing. Agreed. Time to start the rookie and get him some experience. Jimmy G isn't the answer for the Raiders, he was part of the problem.

Congratulations to the Walker Texas Rangers on their first World Series title. They beat Arizona tonight 5-0 and win the Series 4-1. Somewhere Chuck Norris is smiling.

Raiders have fired head coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler

Five of the nine games on Monday went into overtime, seven of the nine decided by one goal. Lots of good action in the first month of the season, many close games. Meanwhile the New York Rangers just swept a five-game road trip beating Winnipeg in OT on Monday. -
Water heater broke and I have flooding, ruined carpet, black mold, and no hot water. Probably going to have to replace the carpet.

There is definitely a market for that. There seems to be two types of movies that people love to watch when they are horrible. One is horror and the other is martial arts. The worse they are the more people like them. Zombie movies seems to be the prime example.
