The Official National Hockey League Appreciation Thread

Minnesota and Marc Andre-Fleury got a win on Tuesday night against his former team, the Penguins. The win puts Minnesota at 6-1-2, 14 points, only two behind the first place Jets. Still a long way to go, obviously, but it is nice to get some early season wins because if you slump mid-season, and many times teams do, there is a benefit to having banked those standings points in October. You don't have to chase as much later in the year as you do if you start out slow. Not saying the Wild are changing my expectations of the season, but they look good so far, and I am always happy for Fleury, one of my favorite players. Other winners were the Ducks, Flyers, Kraken, Senators, Capitals. and the San Jose Sharks have won two in a row. -
They are not out yet, they live to see game five after winning 11-4 Tuesday night.

Bad news for the Texans, WR Stephon Diggs is out for the season with a torn ACL. The Texans are 6-2 and one of the top contenders, not sure how this will impact but we might learn a little bit on Thursday night as the Texans spend Halloween in NY against the Jets.

The Jets fall for the first time this season, a 4-2 loss in Toronto, dropping them to 8-1-0, still the best team in the league right now but it ends the winning streak. Other winners tonight were the Golden Knights, Sharks, Hurricanes, Blackhawks, Lightning, Panthers and Blue Jackets. -
Back to the gym today. Felt good.

Bugs? Errors? Things That Are Missing?

OK, ignore that. There was no problem with the post, user error was the issue. I posted in the wrong section and did not notice it at first. -
The Jets lost to the Patriots and are now in last place in the AFC East, dropping to 2-6 and have lost five in a row. WOW. The 25-22 win by the Patriots was done with a TD in the final minute, followed by a two-point conversion. I figured Rodgers would get them a FG attempt but it never came to be. The struggling Jets have a quick turnaround, hosting the 6-2 Texans on Thursday night. It doesn't get any easier for New York. The Lions got into their Ford Mustangs and drove over the Titans on Sunday, a 52-14 blowout as Detroit improves to 6-1. Next week the Lions travel to the frozen tundra (well maybe not frozen yet) of Lambeau Field in Green Bay to face the Packers. The Ravens who looked unstoppable the last few weeks lost in Cleveland to a Browns team that did not have Watson, ending the Ravens five game win streak. The Chiefs stayed unbeaten by defeating the Raiders. Chiefs play the Bucs at home a week from Monday, on November 4, and already are in good position for the playoffs, and even home field, as they are two games up on every team in the AFC. Despite Mahomes having a down season by the stats, the Chiefs just keep winning. I thought KC would be good, but not 7-0. Mahomes and Ried are the Brady and Belichick of this era. Lots of football left but no question they are still the team to beat. The 49ers beat the Cowboys, Bills beat the Seahawks, Falcons topped the Bucs, and the Chargers won against the Saints, to name a few of the other games.

With Halloween only a few days away I am going back through the classic movies. Watching Halloween 3 tonight. A strange film that is different from the others because there is no Michael Meyers. The original plan for the movie series was that Meyers was going to be done after the sequel, then for Halloween 4 the filmmakers decided to bring him back, so there is this weird Halloween 3 movie that is out of left field. I like the movie, but it is nothing like anything else in the Halloween series.

I had another post in the football thread that did not submit. When I went back to the thread there was no record of my writing it. Is anyone else having this issue? -

I guess visualization regarding the techniques. I have used it for Katas, or my blocking, ect, typically the week of a belt test. I don't do much of it, or much meditation, but sometimes it can be helpful.

Fourteen games on Saturday, meaning 28 of the 32 teams were in action, to close out a very busy week in the National Hockey League. Jets win again, now 8-0, meanwhile the Wild lose and go pointless for the first time this year, the Flyers beat them 7-5. First regulation loss for Minnesota and a good start to the season. The other winners on Saturday were the Sabers, Stars, Kings, Bruins, Lightning, Canadians, Rangers, Panthers, Predators, Canucks, Hurricanes, and Golden Knights. -

Rams were winners over the Vikings on Thursday Night Football, 30-20. The Vikings were undefeated on Sunday morning and now quickly have two losses. They will have to sit on these losses for a bit, the next game for the Vikings is Sunday night, November 3, against the Colts.

Another busy day in the NHL. Jets remain the sole unbeaten team this year, now at 7-0, after a 4-3 win against Seattle. Minnesota is now 5-0-2 with their win against Tampa. Other winners were the LA Kings, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey. St. Louis, Dallas, and Carolina.
