  1. Capitals goalie Charlie Lindgren did an unusual thing on Wednesday night, he scored a goal. As we know goalie goals are rare, however he did it in his own net! In an attempt to move the puck behind the net, Lindgren put it into the net by mistake. What makes this even stranger is that the goal was awarded to Brayden Point of the Lightning, and it was for a hat trick, since he had two goals already in the game. The ice is covered with hats and Point did not even know that was his goal at first. A truly bizarre situation. The goal put the Lightning up 4-3, but the Capitals would come back and win it 5-4. Other winners on Thanksgiving Eve were the Blue, Red Wings, Wild, Hurricanes, Panthers, Penguins, Avs, Kings, Bruins, Flyers, Canadians, Blackhawks, Ducks, and Senators.
  2. Hozier - Take Me to Church
  3. Went back and watched it again, and I guess the purpose of the all-out brawl was to see everyone fighting everyone, especially the sensei's. Makes sense but I am kind of played out on the massive brawls that take place over and over in the show.
  4. Definitely. There are some good coaches out there for hire and some teams that are struggling could pick one up. I'm thinking Montreal because they have been off to a bad start and lost again tonight, or Pittsburg who has really struggled. Nashville also a possibility. Would not surprise me at all if one of those teams makes a coaching change before the end of December. The other game today was Vancouver over Boston 2-0. Tuesday is usually a big NHL night but this week only two games. There are 15 games tomorrow, so Wednesday will be packed, and no games on Thursday for Thanksgiving.
  5. The screenname alone is worth of a nomination.
  6. EPO - Heart Attack
  7. The Cowboys would be smart to hire Belichick, but like you said, Jerry would have to give up a lot of his control. Is he willing to do that? Maybe, but it would be a big step out of character for him to do so. Bill had a funny story on MacAee last week about how some of the owners, in this case Art Modell, listen more to the media than their own head coach. He said Art came to him and asked "does your defensive coordinator really know what he is doing?" Bill's defensive coordinator at the time was Nick Saban. Everyone on the show had a good laugh about that one!
  8. Looks like the Eagles are going to win, they are up 30-14 in the 4th, and if they do they will improve to 9-2. Dallas pulled an upset today in Washington, and the Packers beat the 49ers, dropping San Fran to last place at 5-6, but only one back of Seattle, so while the 49ers have had a tougher time this year the division is very much in reach. Titans also pulled an upset for the Texans, Other winners were the Chiefs, Dolphins, Lions, Vikings, Bucs, Broncos, and Seahawks. Ravens and Chargers play on Monday. Jaguars had a bye week.
  9. Only one game on Sunday, Toronto beat Utah 3-2. The Blues fired head coach Drew Bannister and hired Jim Montgomery who had been fired by the Bruins recently.
  10. Yeah there have definitely been some wild games in bad weather. In baseball sometimes you get the animal interference, birds, bees, ect that require the game to stop for a few moments. Then there was the time Randy Johnson hit a bird while pitching during a preseason game. There have been some other bad weather games in the NFL that were not snow. A few years ago a Monday Night game in Buffalo was so windy that the Patriots only had three pass attempts the entire game. If you had the wind to your back, you couldn't even throw the ball.

  13. Excellent experience, thank you for sharing it. I am guessing it will make you a better student also.
  14. You were able to reverse your diabetes?
  15. Very busy day in the NHL, every team played except for Leafs and Ducks. Bob, you will be happy that your Golden Knights put up five goals in the second and beat the Canadians 5-2. Couple of notes: Sidney Crosby scored his 600th career goal on Saturday, making him the 21st player to do so. It was the only goal the Penguins scored in a 6-1 loss to Utah. It puts him second all-time among Penguins players, Mario Lemieux had 690, and Sid is also second among active players, with Ovi at 868. Big milestone for the future hall of famer. The San Jose Sharks retired number 19 to honor Joe Thorton. OT games - Flames over Wild, Flyers over Blackhawks, Blue Jackets over Hurricanes. Regulation game winners - Kings, Avalanche, Devils, Canucks, Bruins, Stars, Islanders, Sabers, Predators, and Oilers
  16. There have been a good number of memorable snow games over the years in the NFL. Bob I am sure you can recall the Thanksgiving game between the Dolphins and Cowboys back in the 90s where the field was covered in snow. That was the game where Leon Lett blew it for the Cowboys. I think it was in 1993. The most recent major snow game I recall, before last night, was in December of 2022 when the Dolphins played at the Bills. Though not as bad as the weather last night. I feel like there might have been one last year but I can't recall off the top of my head. Then there is the famous playoff game between the Raiders and Patriots where the fumble was overturned into an incomplete pass via the Tuck Rule, and the Patriots Adam Vinatieri hits a 45-yard FG into the wind in the blizzard, still considered by many to be the greatest FG kick in NFL history. While it looked like the Patriots season was over, they instead went on to win the Super Bowl, the first for Brady. While most of the snow games I think are in Buffalo, New England, Cleveland, or Green Bay, there have been others. The Lions played in a snowstorm when they visited the Eagles in 2013, and there was the terrible game in Giants Stadium back in 1995 where the Giants fans were throwing snowballs at the Chargers players, one of them was an iceball that injured a cameraman. I remember some snow games in Chicago, Seattle, Denver, and Kansas City. Maybe Pittsburgh also.
  17. Good Charlote - The Anthem
  18. Update on the Ovechkin injury, it is worse than originally reported. He has a cracked fibula and is now expected to miss 4-6 weeks. That timeline puts him possibly out of the lineup until after the first of the year. It is a tough break for Ovi and the Capitals, both who have started out very strong. Ovi's 15 goals are the most by any player in the league this season entering today. The Capitals played the Avalanche on Thursday and lost 2-1. Other winners on Nov 21 were the Golden Knights, Bruins, Red Wings, Devils, Blue Jackets, Blues, Flames, Blackhawks, and the Wild beat the Oilers 5-3.
  19. Snow game in Cleveland! Browns score a late TD to pull an upset against their longtime rival the Steelers. Final score was 24-19. We do not get many snow games in the NFL, but I love it when we do, I always enjoy watching football in bad weather. Snow, rain, wind...makes it more fun.
  20. Five games in the NHL on Wednesday, three end in shutouts. Leafs 3-0 over Knights, Sabers 1-0 over Kings, and Kraken 3-0 over Preds. Other scores were Stars 5-2 over Sharks and Hurricanes 4-1 over Flyers. Since it was a slower night in the league that means there is usually a busy one the next day, and there is, ten games on the schedule for Thursday.
  21. Is a user allowed to react to a post with more than one "like?" For example, if I wanted to post a "like" and a "thanks" are both supposed to show? I tried doing that and it only would show the most recent one I posted.
  22. The Jets continue to put the Win in Winnipeg, tonight's 6-3 victory over defending champion Florida puts the Jets at 16-3, their 32 points are the best in the league with Minnesota and Washington next at 27. The Jets Morgan Barron scored two empty net goals in the third. It is rare to see a player score two empty netters in one game. They were the first two goals of the season for Barron, and his first career two goal game. Barron is a hard-working 4th liner who doesn't score much but does a lot of other stuff to help the team. He is one of my favorite players and every time I watch him, I see an honest effort. Wild win in St. Louis, two goals by Kaprizov, now at 13 for the season, third most in the league. He is clearly the best player on the Wild and one of the young stars in the league. Minnesota improves to 12-3-3, second place in the central behind the Jets. Lightning win in OT against the Penguins, Oilers beat the Senators 5-2 behind two goals by McDavid (8 and 9), and one by Draisaitl (14). Three games active as of this posting. The Rangers and Canucks tied 2-2 in the first, Islanders lead the Flams 1-0 in the second, and Ducks lead the Blackhawks 3-2 in the third.
  23. Welcome to the forum, @rtiq I see this is your first post. Thanks for joining us. It looks like you have done a lot of research about this, what is your main goal for training? If it is physical fitness them almost any martial arts style would be helpful. Since you don't want forms, you might consider Muay Thai, to my knowledge, and I am no expert, there are no Katas in MT. There are some high kicks, can I ask why you are looking to avoid high kicks? If it is a physical limitation, I would inform any instructor about that when you meet with them. I am sure there are members here who can help you with questions about MT, I only took a trail class once and it was a fantastic work out. Another style you might look for is traditional Hapkido. Tough to find in the USA, if that is where you are, but if you can find it you will see it incorporates a lot of what you are looking for. It does falls, rolls, throws, standing joint locks, low kicks, punches, blocking, and weapons. It is an all-encompassing style, excluding forms, at least that is how we were taught it, but there was no sport element, so if your heart is set on competition then it won't be for you. Hope this helps a little bit. I always tell people that best MA is the one that fits what you are looking to get of your training. I am know some of the more experienced members and martial artists on this site will have a lot of good suggestions. Thanks again for posting.
  24. It has been so bad for the Cowboys this year even the stadium is having a bad season. A few hours before the game a piece of metal fell from the roof and onto the football field. Thankfully nobody was injured. I remember years ago when the Metrodome roof caved in because of the snow and wind. There was a hole in the roof and the snow fell on the field as the entire place deflated. Thankfully it happened around 5am and nobody was in the building at the time, but it required the Vikings to finish the season at the University of Minnesota stadium, outdoors. They played in the same stadium for several years while the new dome was being build.
