  1. I used to work in a nightclub and believe me, I saw a lot of customers who were wrong! We had to ban many of them.
  2. Busy day in the NHL. Speaking of Vegas, they started 3-0 and now have lost three in a row, though they did get a point in Florida on Saturday losing in overtime. Other winners were the Rangers, Islanders, Capitals, Senators, Sabers (yes Buffalo), Stars, Blues, Wild, Red Wings, Kraken, Utah, and the still undefeated Winnipeg Jets now 4-0 won in a blowout and are the last remaining unbeaten team in the league. On the other side is the Nashville Predators who are stinking up the joint at 0-5, the only team in the league without point in the standings. What is going on in Music City Hockey? That is a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs right there.
  3. How important are things like Zen meditation and visualization to your training? How do you find them beneficial?
  4. Eight hours is bonkers to me. Even the TKD black belt tests in our school were maybe two hours or less. My green belt test was in Karate was four hours, active the entire time, so I don't want to think about going twice as long.
  5. In our Karate classes 2-2.5-hour tests are the norm. My first test was at least two hours. Our green belt test was four hours. Much different that my experiences in other styles, where the test was probably an hour or less. I much prefer the shorter tests.
  6. OK. I have noticed that the icons at the bottom right (not sure what they are called) that give feedback for likes and respect, and what not, are now not showing for me.
  7. Now see, I once got in trouble at the courthouse for having a kubaton on my keychain. I went through security and the officer said that it was not allowed. They did not arrest me but I had to give up the weapon, then was given it back when I left. However, he did say that concealing that weapon would be illegal. So what is legal to carry in one state could be illegal as soon as you cross the border to the next state, which might be just a few minutes from where you live. It varies. It also can vary from county to county in that state, and then again to the city. Being legal in the state might not make it legal in the next county.
  8. Not at all. I see customers that are wrong all the time in every type of business. People are wrong constantly.
  9. It does not go through, so no I did not see it posted. When I go back to the topic, it is saved in the reply space. Kind of like when you write an email but don't send it and it goes into your draft folder. There is a chance that I did not submit the reply for whatever reason...got distracted or whatever...so user error is also a possibility. This is my post #711 I am now in the mood for a Slurpee. Mmmmmmm, Slurpee.
  10. I think I hurt my back with bad form (not badly, not injured, but something did not feel right) same with my left knee when I was doing lunges. We now have a new instructor for the training who just got certified. *shrugs*

Happy Birthday @sensei8 congratulations on making it another year, hope this one is good to you!
  13. We all know that Watson is a loser, and anyone reasonable knew it was bat crap crazy for the Browns to do what they did, though I don't know of anyone who thought it would be this bad. I agree that the ownership is being stubborn, either due to the sunk cost fallacy or the delusion of thinking Watson gives them the best chance to win. He doesn't. I'd love to see the coach bench him anyway, even at the risk of getting canned. Stefanski is likely fired at the end of the season based on how it is going, so he could at least put his team in the best position to win while he still has a job. I do not think that will happen, and I understand why he doesn't, but would love to see it. Browns are getting exactly what they signed up for with Watson. Possibly the dumbest decision by a major sports team in the history of the world. As for the Raiders, there are rumors that Crosby is on the trading block, possibly going to Detroit so the Lions can make up the loss of Hutch. With Adams gone, Crosby is the only player the Raiders have right now who possess high trade value. Might be time to trade him, get some draft picks, and go full rebuild. Raiders won't be competitive this year, so with a new coach and new QB it would make sense to do it. By the way, the Patriots and Jaguars play in London this weekend, just in case anyone wants to wake up early on Sunday and watch the two worst teams in the AFC.
  14. Looks like McCarthy is definitely on the hot seat. Expect him and Doug Peterson to be added to the list of fired head coaches this season unless some major turnaround happens. Same thing with Browns coach Kevin Stefanski, who will be the fall man for the terrible decision by the Browns to trade for Watson. Watson has been a disaster, and that trade is already a giant L for Cleveland, but depending on how it plays out it could get even worse and be among the worst trades in sports history.
  15. Haunted Reno by Janice Oberding. Since I made a trip to Reno this summer, I decided to read something spooky about the city. Perfect time of year for it.
  16. I am not expert as I never trailed with the weapon, despite owning a pair for 20 years, but they look good to me. Enjoy!
  17. The Killers - Somebody Told Me
  18. Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson scored an empty net goal in the final seconds of the Wild's 4-1 win against the Blues. He is the 15th goalie in NHL history to score a goal. Dallas remains undefeated now at 4-0 after a shootout win against San Jose. Calgary is the early season surprise, and they win again tonight, now 4-0. Vegas has fallen from the unbeaten, losing in Washington 4-2, first points of the season for the Capitals. No goals for Ovi but he did have two assists, putting him at 700 for his career. Seattle spanked Nashville 7-3, while Florida, Tampa Bay, and Carolina were also winners.
  19. Raiders have traded WR Adams to the Jets for a third-round pick (could turn into a second) and despite his injury the Jets hope he can start this week against the Steelers. The Jets are a disappointment so far this season with a 2-4 start. Jets owner Woody Johnson blamed the kicker after Monday's loss to Buffalo. Right, Woody, it is not your fault at all. Just like in Dallas, the problem with the Jets is ownership. The Jets have not been to the playoffs since 2010 and have not had a winning season since 2015. During that time, they have had different coaches, players, and GMs, but the same ownership. Go ahead and blame the kicker though, for your continued failed franchise that underachieves every season. Idiot.
  20. Utah has fallen from the unbeaten and suffered their first franchise loss, a 3-0 shutout against New Jersey. Utah falls to 3-1. Four undefeated teams left. Another high scoring game today as Ottawa beat the LA Kings 8-7 in overtime. Lots of goals here early in the season.
  21. Personally, I think the problem with the Cowboys is Jerry Jones. He can't be too pleased with how the season has gone so far when you look at all the money he has invested into that roster. Over 120 million this year between Prescott and Lamb alone, maybe this was a wakeup call that will light a fire under them the rest of the season. You obviously need good players to win, and above all a good quarterback, but when you put so much money into just a few guys you spread yourself too thin elsewhere. It is one of the reasons the NFL is so tough, you have to pay your top guys to keep them but then you don't have salary cap space to go out and get the other players you need. In other NFL news it looks like Tom Brady will officially be buying part of the Raiders and become a minority owner. That saga has gone on for a year and a half and could finally be ending this week.
  22. I have a friend who is a Mets fan who I have not seen all summer, and his wife is a Dodgers fan, so I wonder how things are going in that household! I might have to message him this week and see what is going on.
  23. Lions dominate the Cowboys in a 47-9 horror movie style massacre. They do it in Dallas while Jerry Jones was celebrating his birthday. This is the most lopsided home loss for the Cowboys during the time Jerry Jones has owned the team. If that wasn't bad enough, they are now on the bye and will have to sit on this one for two weeks. It wasn't perfect the Detroit either, though, as Aiden Hutchinson broke his leg during the game. Hutch has been the Lions best defensive player and entered Sunday leading the NFL in sacks. As Bill Parcells once said - if you win or lose on Sunday, something is bad on Monday. Feels good to see the Lions to get this win after so many tough losses down in Arlington over the years, including the controversial ending to the game last season. It has been a long time since I was so excited about a regular season victory! LET'S GO LIONS!
  24. Yes. That fight is scheduled for November 16 in New York.
  25. Five teams still with perfect records and they are all in the west. Calgary, Utah, Winnipeg, Vegas, and Dallas are all 3-0-0, still on the chase for the undefeated 82-0-0 season. The Oilers have three games in the bag and not a point to show for it. No need to panic with 79 games left, but another slow start for Edmonton. If you recall they had a bad start last season, fired the coach, then made it to the finals where they were down 3-0 and came back to force a 7th game. Way too soon to count them out even though they are at the bottom of the league right now. Capitals, Avs, and Predators are also pointless, but have played fewer games. Washington is only 0-1 and does not play until Tuesday. Colorado will have a chance to get on the board on Monday when they play the Islanders.
