  1. Curtis Stigers and the Forest Rangers - This Life
  2. OK, I was three for six in the first round so I am going to try this again and maybe do a little better. The two games on Saturday are easier. The Chiefs will beat the Texans. Houston is not consistent enough to go into KC and win. They won a bad division and last week the Chargers were terrible. KC has home field, they are getting healthier with Mahomes having time to heal and Chris Jones will be back, plus Andy Reid has a great record for his career coming after a bye against a team that played the previous week. Chiefs win and it could get ugly, they will advance to their 6th consecutive AFC title game. Houston can cause some problems with their pass rush but it won't be enough. Saturday night massacre coming in Detroit. I pick the Lions to go to the Super Bowl. They came up a little short last year, this year they have home field and a bye week. Their offense has been the best in the league, their running game is unstoppable. Washington is coming into the Lion's Den with a rookie QB, Detroit will win big. They will advance and host a home NFC Championship game for the first time in team history. That dome will be crazy loud. Sunday, we have more interesting games. It starts with the Rams at the Eagles, and I am picking the Eagles. Philly has a great D and a great O line, and a QB who can drive your defense nuts. The Rams looked great against Minnesota and their pass rush was a nightmare for Sam Darnold. I am picking the Eagles; they are a little better team and at home, but I do think this will be a close game and fun to watch. Then the final game of the weekend is the toughest to pick. Baltimore at Buffalo. Both teams have a QB playing at an MVP level. The Ravens have been outstanding ever since their bye week. The Bills have home field and have been knocking on the door of the Super Bowl the last few years, so this will come down to the final minute. I am picking the Bills, because they are at home, and I think it is their year to win the conference. I pick the Bills and the Lions to meet in New Orleans for the big game.
  3. Definitely been thinking about you! Stay safe and good luck in this horrid disastrous mess.
  4. Tough night for the Vikings. Gave up a lot of sacks and had several turnovers, one that was returned for a touchdown. Rams win easily 27-9 and will advance. Here is the full divisional round schedule with times and TV information. All time are eastern. Saturday January 18: Texans @ Chiefs 4:30pm on ESPN/ESPN+/ABC Commanders @ Lions 8pm on FOX Sunday January 19: Rams @ Eagles 3pm on NBC/Peacock Ravens @ Bills 6:30pm on CBS Some exciting matchups here, especially the Sunday games. Let the divisional round begin!
  5. Hope you are still enjoying it, it's one of my favorite shows.
  6. The final episodes, the last chapter of Cobra Kai, drops a month from day, Feb. 13.
  7. Green became red and now red becomes black. This is post 1,000. BLACK BELT BABY!!
  8. Thankfully I have never suffered any major injury from training. When I was in my first tournament, I was in TDK at the time, I took a kick to the face where I was seeing stars for a few days. That was probably a concussion though I was never treated for it. Other than that, no injuries, so I consider myself fortunate. I've never seen anyone get really injured in class, but in tournaments I've seen people get knocked out and carried out to an ambulance. There was a TKD tournament I was coaching in where a student turned, hit the opponent in the face with an elbow, breaking his nose, and blood flooded out all over his white Gi and onto the mats. His nose was smashed, the bloodiest injury I have seen first hand. Not a match I was coaching, but still.
  9. That is good to hear, sounds like you and the others on here have had better luck than I have. I am on a run of something like 18 of my last 20 flights either being cancelled or delayed, sometimes for days. Thankfully I have never felt like my life was in danger on a plane, so it could be a lot worse.

  12. Red Wings stay hot, they have won seven in a row after their win over Seattle on Sunday. The seven game win streak is the longest in the NHL right now. Seattle is on the other side of that coin, and they continue to struggle. Seattle had an excellent second season as a franchise getting to the second round of the playoffs and losing in seven games, they have yet to match that level of play since, they are at 18-23-3 this year and right now not in the playoff picture. Columbus has the second longest current win streak at four, and to the surprise of many the Blue Jackets are currently the 8 seed in the east. The Senators beat the Stars, Lightning beat the Penguins, Golden Kings over the Wild, and Ducks beat the Canes 3-2 in OT. The Golden Knights fans and franchise gave a standing ovation to Marc Andre Fleury on Sunday. MAF got the first career win for the Golden Knights when the team started play back in 2017 and was an original member. Fans in Pittsburgh had a similar response when Fleury was out there. He is in his final NHL season and fans of his previous teams are giving him a farewell. Fleury has over 1,000 career starts and is second all-time in wins. He is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion and a Vezina Trophy winner. He will be a first ballot hall of famer someday.
  13. The Cowboys and HC Mike McCarthy have parted ways as the two sides could not agree on a new deal, making the Cowboys now a team in need of a head coach. Black Monday continues into its second week. The Cowboys are in a group with the Saints, Jaguars, Raiders, Bears, and Jets all looking for their next coach.

  15. It took five playoff games, but we finally had a game come down to the end. Washington wins on a walk off field goal 23-20, being the only road team to win in this post season so far. It is the first playoff win for Washington in 19 years. There was some questionable play calling early in the game where Washington decided to pass on kicking a FG and go for it on 4th down, coming up empty. Had they lost it would be all the talk this week, but since they were able to pull out the win anyway it is just another crazy game in the NFL. Update: The current games are as scheduled - Saturday Jan. 18 Texans @ Chiefs - 4:30pm Commanders @ Lions - 8pm Sunday Jan. 19 Vikings or Rams @ Eagles - 3pm Ravens @ Bills - 6:30 pm All times eastern.
  16. Broncos hung with the Bills for the first half and then some, but the Bills pulled away and make it a blowout in the second half. That sets up the second round in the AFC, the Ravens will play at the Bills and the Texans will play at the Chiefs. Both games will be on Saturday. The Ravens Bills game is especially interesting, two MVP candidates at QB and both teams are good enough to win the Super Bowl. Right now, the Eagles are up on the Packers 10-0, and we will see the NFC games over the next day plus. If the Eagles win, they will be at home next week no matter what happens in the other games, being the two seed. Three games in the playoffs so far and none of them have been close, I don't think the Packers look like they can hang with the Eagles either and this could become a blowout.
  17. Yep. While the non-trained will see an attack as aggressive and threatening, many of us will just say, "hey, I have a lot of options here." I always avoid fights if possible but I know people I've trained with who seem to be hoping someone attacks them or threatens them so they can use their training.
  18. The New England Patriots have hired head coach Mike Vrabel. This is not a surprise since many speculated he was in line for the job as soon as Mayo was fired. The first new head coach has been hired, five more to go.
  19. In the coaching front the Bears have interviewed Pete Carroll. Both the Patriots and Jets have interviews Mike Vrabel. Both the Raiders and Jaguars are talking with Lions OC Ben Johnson, and the Saints appear to have interested in Lions DC Aaron Glenn. Nobody hired yet, and with the new rule this year anyone currently still coaching a team in the playoffs can't be hired until after that team is eliminated, so that might slow down some of the official announcements for head coaches. In other news the Titans fired GM Ran Carthon, believed to have been behind the decision to fire Mike Vrabel last season. The Titans regressed this year to a league worst 3-14 and hold the #1 draft pick. Vrabel is one of the most desired coaches available this season, he has been interviewed by the Patriots, Jets, Bears, and Saints, and the Raiders have also expressed interest.
  20. Years ago I took a semester of JJJ in college and our Sensei told us "I like to fight the way I play chess, meaning that my opening makes a move, but after his first move I am in control, so if he grabs me by the shirt (indicating that the student was doing just that), then that is his move, now every move he makes between now and the end of the fight, I force him to make," then proceeded to take the student down. Always stuck with me.
  21. Got thought it, actually not as tough as I thought it would be. Biggest challenge though was New Years Eve, but it worked out well.
  22. Thid Eye Blind - Jumper
  23. Busy day of hockey, 15 games. Winners were the Capitals, Jets, Blue Jackets, Devils, Flyers, Oilers, Senators, Stars, Canucks, Kraken, Islanders, and Bruins. West coast games still in action, Rangers and Knights tied at 1, Wild up 2-0 over the Sharks, and Flames tied with Kings at 1.
  24. I was one of two on opening day of NFL playoffs, Ravens looked like Super Bowl contenders in their win over the Steelers. They controlled the clock and ran the ball well. Ravens are going to be a tough out for anyone. They will either play in Buffalo next week, or play at home against the Texans, as Houston blew through the LA Chargers like a California fire, 32-12, making it the first time in NFL history that 32-12 was the final score of a game. Chargers QB Justin Herbert, who had only three interceptions the entire regular season, threw four in the loss on Saturday. His QBR was 40.9, a season low, where his average had been 101 for the year and is 96 for his career. Surprising performance by Herbert for sure. Another first round exit for the Chargers and the Steelers. The Chargers have a new coach and the right QB, so they will probably be on the up and up, but the Steelers continue to have this just above mediocre seasons every year. How long will they stick with Mike Tomlin? He has never had a losing season, but it has been a while since they were a real contender. They seem to be just good enough to get into the playoffs but then lose in the first round.
