  1. What is it with people calling themselves soke lately?
  2. I'm not sure how keen the mods will be on this, but budoseek.net is a nice forum as well.
  3. The punches straight to the throat were impressive...but a lot of those people were in visible pain after they got hit (including the girl doing her master's test, that passed out in the middle of it)...that tells me that he's doing nothing for them, and that he's a fraud.
  4. Great for all of you! Good luck!
  5. Nope, this one is brand new. Sano probably has it too.
  6. Yeah...he's a BIG fraud. There was a huge lawsuit against him too...don't remember the link.
  7. Just remember, you've been out for a little bit, so don't get frustrated if it all doesn't come right back to ya.
  8. So you think... jk
  9. When I first glanced at this post, I thought it said I don't BELIEVE in Canada...*LOL*
  10. Hehe, yes, its Economics. No problem! And trust me, you're right about wanting to kill yourself after that movie!
  11. A big problem with today's marketing and public perception is that ANY martial art is labeled as "karate." The average joe doesn't know the difference, and hte word karate becomes synonomous with martial art. This is misleading to those of us who know better. I can't count the times people have asked me what kind of "karate" I do...in reality, I haven't done a true form of karate in years.
  12. It's not the location of the school, its the quality of the instruction.
  13. hehe, funny guy.
  14. Why do you drive in a parkway, and park in a driveway?
  15. Skipping, like skipping rope, or skipping like skip to my lou?
  16. I just got this CD...while it certainly isn't a musical masterpiece, nor will it win any awards, I do have to say it was mostly entertaining. The skits with Stone Cold were great, and John Cena has some serious skills rapping. I'm probably opening myself up for flaming here, but it really wasn't that bad...not something I'd spend 16 bucks on (thank goodness I didn't), but entertaining, overall.
  17. Eh...Frank Mir in UFC has a build that I envy...I suppose nobody wants to be too big, but you doon't wanna be weak either.
  18. I'm still looking for a place to put a school...I live in a townhouse, so there's no room at my place for it. All the local gyms already have karate clubs as well. *le sigh*
  19. I would suggest an eliptical machine over a treadmill...it's more of a full body workout, with little to no impact on the knees. Also, don't necessarily cut meat out, but make sure its LEAN meat (chicken breast, turkey, lean steak, salmon, etc...). For me, I'm always eating steak as much as I can, but its always very lean (sirloin is a good cut). Nutirition is above all the most important aspect of any workout program...your body simply cannot build muscle or burn fat without the right kind of fuel.
  20. It's not showing off at all. I know that I, for one, usually rib my instructor about going into the splits like its nothing (I call him Master Gumby a lot). Are you sure you're not recieving the same thing?
  21. I've actually heard quite a few good things about Segal's technique...at the risk of sounding ignorant and getting flamed, what's the deal?
  22. welcome!
  23. Don't worry, its not dirty. http://www.stud.ntnu.no/home/alexann/
  24. Im 5'10", 190 lbs. Athletic, definitely...my legs are huge. The rest of me could use some building.
  25. GNC 100% Whey is cheap and good. That's about the only thing I'd reccomend from them. I get most of my supplements off of bodybuilding.com
