Welcome to the board!
-
It looks good...I'd probably add a small snack after lunch, and another after dinner (or tea).Just eat every couple of hours to increase your metabolism. And make sure its not "junk".

Welcome aboard...you didn't happen to come here by way of bodybuilding.com, did ya? I was just discussing this forum on one of their threads.

WOOHOO! I'm a blue belt! Just had to add that!

You know...I actually tried muscletech. I had my biggest gains while using Nitrotech and Celltech...however, their serving sizes are enourmous, that's part of hte reason. It is SO overpriced its ridiculous, not to mention tastes horrible. But heck, two scoops of muscletech four times a day, plus two scoops of cell tech twice a day...heck yah you're gonna get big. too bad it has the opposite effect on your wallet, and isn't really any better than generic whey protein or generic creatine.

BOB SAPP VS. MIKE TYSON!
WolverineGuy replied to wrestlingkaratechamp's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
While I'm no fan of Tyson...when he was in his prime, he could've taken QUITE a few people. I don't know how well he would've done vs. grapplers, but they would have to be EXTRA careful to avoid his knockout power. -
Its all about muscletech!!! jk

Eh, you could look at it that way...although I really got paid to surf on the internet.

Awesome! Congrats dude!

Building Room for Karate
WolverineGuy replied to Steinhauers's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Now you're talkin! -
Not really for any NOTICEABLE gains. Do as many pushing motions as you can (pushups, dips) and don't skimp on the cardio. Dips are one excercise that do not require any extra weight beyond your body weight, and are a core excercise for building pectorals and triceps.

This is very true. I've noticed that Hapkido and Kenpo, I believe, also do a lot of "distance dojo" work...I can't believe that that's legit, but I'm willing to hear any opposing opinions on it.

I'm still 17 at heart...of course, I'm 26 now.

Building Room for Karate
WolverineGuy replied to Steinhauers's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Amen to that...one of my students built a room that was bigger than our training space...I envy him. -
Good Luck! What college (if you don't mind disclosing that to the world)...major and such perhaps?

Got a call for a two day assignment yesterday: Econ and US History at the high school. The Econ classes have been great...they have a review sheet for final exams, and they just got right to work. The US History classes, however, have to watch a movie and take notes on it that will be turned in. The movie? All quiet on the western front. For those of you unfamiliar with this movie, it won best picture in 1929. Yes, 1929. I have to watch this thing three times...anyone care to put me out of my misery? This movie looks old enough to have pioneered the motion picture industry. I told one of the other teachers that if you look close enough, you can see a thumb at the bottom flipping through the pictures. Oy veh...sometimes you get winners...othertimes, you get snoozers.

HELP: Starting a Second Martial Art
WolverineGuy replied to Rich_2k3's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I agree...if you've only been training one year in your style, you really can't have an informed opinion on what the holes are in your art. Mind you, if you're just doing it for variety...heck, why not. But I still believe that there's a certain leel of mastery that has to be attained before jumping to another art. -
No disrespect, but that attitude right there proves the point of why you SHOULD cross train in grappling. Most people are NOT ready for a fight to go to the ground...and if you can take it there, you're good to go!
-
I know we were discussing this in another thread, but when you're a fighter, you never grapple a grappler, kick a kicker, or box a boxer. While the karateka can punch, he's playing to your strength in a boxing ring, which gives you a DECISIVE edge. Put the boxer in a point sparring match, it's gonna be a totally different game and result.

pro wrestlers are going too dominate mma!
WolverineGuy replied to sano's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
Nah, I haven't competed MMA...I'd consider it, but like I said, my elbow is screwed up. I'm right handed, and its my right elbow...can barely throw a punch with it because of it. -
Pffft. I don't post to drive up my post counts.
