  1. I love women who do MA's. I like strong women.
  2. What was the MA used for is a question that will answer the WHYs of each particular MA. Jumping from trees might be taught because it was useful back in the day.
  3. Read the thread it's about techniques not allowed in competition. I say all techniques whether dirty or brutal are necessary in a real situation. Each situation is unique of course, but that's another topic altogether.
  4. It's like chopping a tree down. You hack at it a certain way and it will fall.
  5. Why would my wife break into my house?
  6. Everything can be a weapon. Insults can unbalance a person mentally, thus causing them to make rash attacks.
  7. So your heels or feet are never planted? You are constantly on your toes, even when striking?
  8. I also think that real masters didn't want to be bothered with it. There are many MA masters that don't compete, so who knows what kind of fighters are out there.
  9. Shuriken are made to buzz saw past someone and cut in the process. Your taijutsu has to be pretty good to throw a shuriken accurately and with power.
  10. I someone broke into my house I'd say, "Who wants to die?"
  11. As a weapon the Bo is brutal. The Jo is cool. But the Bo beat Musashi Miyamoto.
  12. Just always be observant of your surroundings and don't internalize your thoughts. What I mean by that is, don't day dream too much in public. Always be alert, but not paranoid.
  13. I've never been good with authority, so if I smell a rat I'm out ot there.
  14. I'm not soley a striker, that's why I said it. I see what you are saying though.
  15. Low kicks are safer.
  16. Yeah, but they're against you even more if you've never trained for it.
  17. Sorry bro, but BJJ isn't considering the fact that there may be other people around or maybe your attacker has a hidden weapon and is only trying to draw you in. Other things like two people attacking you at the same time, you can't take both down and control them. You are risking way too much by sacrificing yourself to the ground as an attack. It's better to stay on your feet so that running is still an option. Sorry if I offended you, but just because it was designed for the street it doesn't mean that it's good for the street. It's really good groundfighting and sometimes you can't take it to the ground. There are way too many factors in a street fight to think the way BJJ teaches. I think BJJ should keep evolving and incorporate some of the Jujutsu strikes back into it to make it more rounded. I think you are convinced that all fights end up on the ground, but I'm not. I've only had one fight out of about 25 or 30 in my life that ended up on the ground. You like the ground game so you think that way, but I and many don't.
  18. That's too bad. MA's is supposed to be fighting, but somehow it turned into something else.
