HHHmmm, Life for me has been a pretty transient but active experience up until the last 10 years where I have had a chance to put down some roots. Currently I am training 6 hours a week at Karate and that will shortly increase substantially as I prepare for my shodan grading some time next year. Couch and TV aren't my thing theses days, If I am sitting down at home it's probably at my desktop surfing interesting topics on the interwebby.

You be the judge? How would you call it? Win loose or draw?
Bulltahr replied to Alan Armstrong's topic in Karate
Stuff happens! and the intent was to mawashi not hiza I believe. Blue left his whole right side un-covered and went in and found a knee. Dunno about WKF but Blue wins in my book...... -

How to use a bamboo tree in place of makiwara?
Bulltahr replied to username19853's topic in Health and Fitness
Be careful with it, once it splits it will cut you to the bone. -
Hahahahaha, Yes, Happy Birthday JR!

Try Google sheets, (Free) you can add access for all your students, there are templates that you can use and tweak to your requirements. I use it for my own training log, it's cloud based which means you can access it anywhere, from your smart phone for example.

What is your reason for learning martial arts?
Bulltahr replied to Alan Armstrong's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I enjoy both the physical and mental challenges that it gives me. Also the disciple. Being ex-military, maybe it has become a replace for that, I don't know, I just know that I enjoy it very much. -
Yes, very interesting. I would imagine that since the first humans formed tribes there was practice and training of some type of another. Now, the family tree of our modern martial arts would be a great project for a researcher, but as you say, documented and verified techniques likely only can be traced hundreds of years rather than thousands.......... The Bubishi makes some interesting reading, especially the first chapters pertaining to the origins of karate.

On my way to Shanghai on Monday, I will try and put together a report with pics upon my return. -
I would say as far as "Eastern" martial arts go, it probably all started with Bodhidharma............ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodhidharma

Warrior on Cinemax
Bulltahr replied to Fat Cobra's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Checked it out, pretty good, I like it, plenty of T and A, although a bit much swearing to be honest as well as a healthy does of 21st century slang. But still, pretty good, I'll keep watching. -
