  1. Hey Bob, I'm so glad the procedure went well, actually, it went amazingly by the sounds of things! Keep going the way you are and you'll smash your target for October. Mo.

  8. Yeah it seems to be growing more popular, there's loads of videos on YouTube. It usually goes under the name of "extreme martial arts" . Mo.
  9. Happy Birthday, Heidi!! Mo.
  10. Happy belated birthday Brian!! Mo.
  11. Yeah, I agree with others on this, for me, he's not kicking, he's flicking his foot out fast. Even balance and agility wise, I've seen far better. I'm really not into all this fancy flicky showy stuff, show me a well executed man-stopper of a kick, that's my kind of video. I often have non MA friends send videos of people doing so called "extreme martial arts" with people on the floor with sparkly suits and flashing lights in the background, doing a clearly choreographed jumpy routine with a Bo at the speed of light! Nope, not for me. Show me a properly timed, strong REAL kata with a Bo, then I'll be impressed, the rest to me, is more akin to majorettes or something. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the time the agility on show is amazing but, agility alone does not make a martial artist. For me anyway. Mo.
  12. I'm not a fan of the stare down either. It's all just pantomime to me. Sure on the night of the actual fight, in the cage/ring it can have it's uses to gauge your opponents mind set but, the press event is just a nonsense to me. I can see why folk like it but, not my cup of tea. Mo.
  13. Congratulations, Brian! sorry I couldn't make the live stream. First night back at work and no access to webcams. Mo.
  14. 1. DONE: obtained all six and placed in 2 of them. 2. DONE: hardest year of training in my life. 3. DONE: No injuries to speak of. 4. NOT DONE: Unfortunately I failed my dan grade. Just nowhere near the standard I know I can perform to, just wouldn't come together on the day. 3 out of 4 ain't bad, just the one I really wanted didn't happen. Mo. To the bold type above... Hang in there Mo; times always on your side!! Thanks, Bob. Yeah, take 2 later in the spring, so after the holidays, it's time to knuckle down again. Mo.

  16. Welcome to KF, Occam. Good to have you! Mo.
  17. That's great news, Bob! Absolutely fantastic! I'd hazard a guess that it's gone because you've done all that is necessary to rid yourself of it! As for the weight, don't stress on it, it'll drop in it's own time as long as you continue to do what you've been doing, which I'm sure you will. Mo.
  18. I have only one goal this year........ BECOME A 1st DAN!!! Mo.

  21. Well, being a Wado practitioner, I'd have to say Tatsuo Suzuki. My instructor often talks about the times he trained with him with great affection. Mo.
