Yeap, there was a lot to take in last night. Thanks for bringing up some more good points. Immpossible to remember them all. I'm going to have to watch it again myself. Maybe between the two of us we can give KarateK her LOST fix.

OK, I'm back. Well, where should I start? Desmond does get out of a military prison and is meet by Mr. Widmore who tells him to disappear. Desmond and Widmore daughter Penny had something going before Des went to jail. Mr. Widmore intercepted all the letters that Desmond had written to Penny and she was now going to marry someone else. Desmond runs into Libby (Elizabeth) at a coffee house and and they talk about Desmond race around the world which apparently is sponsered by Widmore. Libby says her husband (David) passed away and he had a boat that she would like Des to have. In a storm Desmond falls and is knocked out. He awakes on the beach and is dragged into the hatch by Kelvin. Kelvin is the CIA guy the tells Sayid that "one day you'll need information and now you know how to get it" as he drops Sayid off in the desert. Kelvin does die by Desmond's hands, a accident as they struggle. Kelvin hadn't been truthful with Desmond and had planned on taking Desmond's boat to get off the island. Kelvin had a partner too, don't recall the name, who killed himself. Present day Desmond is back on the island, very drunk, and is convinced that there is no way off the island. He had traveled for 7 days West and still ended up back at the island. Locke convinces Desmond that the button was just an experiment and nothing would happen if it counts down. WRONG! Locke and Desmond trick Ecko into leaving the room where he has taken over the button pushing duty. They cause another lockdown to keep Ecko out. Desmond knows how to cause the lockdowns. Inside the room Locke and Desmond talk about the Pearl station and the new orientation film and other stuff that was found there. Locke has the print out taken from the Pearl that shows the times the button was pushed. I forgot to tell you that when Desmond and Kelvin were both out of the hatch Desmond barely got back in time to push the button. It had really counted down all the way and "System Failure" was all over the computer screen. Looking at the print out Desmond notices that the time and date of the system failure was the day that Locke's plane crashed. Desmond had caused the plane to crash. Desmond is ready to push the button but Locke still not convinced destroys the computer. In the mean time Michael has gotten the choosen four to go and help get Walt. On the way Kate spots two of the others following them and she and Sawyer open fire on them. They kill one but the other gets away. Kate say they have to go after him or he warn the Others they are coming. Jack, looking at Michael say they already know and confronts Michael. Michael admits his guilt saying it was the only way he could get Walt back. He also admits to killing Ana and Libby. Jack says he and Sayid have a plan and they continue on. A little future on their journey they here the whispers and are attacked by the others with sleeping darts. They are all captured. Sayid, Jin and Sun are on Desmond's boat coming around the island to help Jack and the gang but they aren't in the Others camp where they thought they would be. It's deserted. On the way there they see the remnants of a huge statue. Just part of a leg and foot (with four toes) is left. The Others take Jack and the gang to a dock where Kate telss Zeke that they know his beard isn't real. He takes it off and we find out his real name is Tom. At the dock the Others boat comes in with Henry on it. It appears that Henry may indeed be "Him". He seems to be calling all the shots. He tells Michael that he had keep his part of the deal and that they would keep theirs. He gives Michael the boat and Walt and tells him to keep the heading of 325 and they would find rescue. During this time the timer has counted down and all heck starts to break loose in the Swan hatch. A very loud noise and a very bright light appears in the sky all over the island. Desmond remembers a key that he had taken from Kelvin. Kelvin told him it was a Fail Safe key that would end it all. Desmond goes down under the floor where he had found Kelvin one day not having the guts to use the key. Desmond inserts the key and turns it. The noise and lights stop. The Others tell Hurley to go back to his camp and tell the others there to never come back to their side of the island. Jack and Kate give each other a look and a little nod as the Others put a bag over Sawyer's head. That's the last we see of them in the episode. It then cuts to two guys playing chess in the snow covered tundra some where. They aren't speaking English. Their computer alarm starts going off and Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected appears on the screen. They get on the phone and call Penny was sleeping. Next to her bed she still has the picture of her and Desmond. They tell her that they think they found it. The END. Penny said in the episode that she would always wait for Desmond and that with enough money and the right people you could find anybody. So was she still looking for Desmond? Did she know he was on the island but didn't know where the island was, until now? Who knows! I'm sure I'm leaving a lot out so if something seems a little fuzzy or doesn't make sense ask and I'll try and clear it up.

OK, KarateK. I tell you about it but first I have to go to my sons awards ceremony at school. Be back in a couple of hours to give you the low down. Not sure I've quite figured the whole thing out yet however. You know LOST, more questions then answers.

Not sure on that one. It may have been Jacks attempt at sarcasm.

Yeap, it seems the Chinese have kidnapped Jack. Boy, they don't know what they're getting into. As one Chinese proverb says "they have a tiger by the tail. "

I am SO nervous for Friday...a long one!!
gheinisch replied to Shotokan-kez's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Just relax and have faith in your ability. As I Sensei has told us in the past to try and get us to feel at ease. "You already know evertything you need to know for this grading or else you wouldn't be grading, look at the grading as a way to showcase your knowledge and skill that you have worked so hard for." Good Luck, you'll do great! -
Well, tonight's the big night for the finale. I can't wait. We should get to see Kelvin and find out why the plane crashed. And also find out more about the connections amongst the characters, both the losties and the others. LOST party tonight at my place.

Don't worry KarateK, every now and then you'll have a so so episode but I think you've got a couple of pretty good ones coming up.

KarateForums.com: Five Years Online
gheinisch replied to Patrick's topic in KarateForums.com Announcements
Hey Patrick, Congrats on a great five years. I know that when I first found Karate Forums I was instantly hooked on the friendly environment and knowledge base represented here. Unlike many of the others sites out there. My gratitude goes out to you Patrick and the other staff members who were such a help to me when I first came on board as a staff member myself. As many other MA's can attest too the Martial Arts is something that you feel in your heart, mind and soul and becomes a way of life. Thanks once again for having this place for all of us to learn and contribute. Greg -
No that wasn't Desmond even though it did resemble him some what. That was Alex (Rousseau's daughter)holding Michael's right arm as they marched him into their camp.

Hey Red J, In some of the interviews I've read the producers say that they will be introducing new characters and back stories in the upcoming season. You're right about people spending a lot of time on the show. Some people have analyzed the whispers and put the numbers through decoders and all kind of craziness like that. I'm not that bad. I do enjoy reading and finding out neat stuff about LOST. They say one more character will die this season, and rumor has it that it might be Sayid. I hope not, he's one of my favorites. Yeah, wouldn't it be great to have a job like that. There's more to the spoiler stuff that I posted above if you want to see it. Some of it sounds plausible but some of it I'm not to sure about. I guess will have to wait and see for ourselves.

Yeah, It probably wouldn't be a good idea watching the whole show at work. From interviews with the writers and producers it sounds like they have already started on some stuff for season four. Jumping up and down with joy. You say I come up with some interesting stuff. How about this one? A little bit about the season finale. Here's part one of what's suppose to be three. Doesn't your friends wonder how you know so much about LOST? "The episode opens with Desmond arriving in the sailboat, completely drunk. In flashback he is being let out of jail and being picked up by his fiancee/wife's father Charles Widmore. Widmore thinks Desmond is useless and tries to talk him into leaving his daughter. Desmond refuses. His backstory is all about Desmond's battle with alcohol. He is desperate to free himself from the bottle and be taken seriously. He sees his "race" as an opportunity for renewal but nobody believes in him. You find out his problems with alcohol are what prevented him from becoming a doctor. When he is "training" at the coliseum he doesn't even have a clue how he is going to enter the race. There is talk of faith and redemption all through this part of his backstory. I think that Widmore was somehow responsible for Libby being in the institution because she is very contemptuous towards him and is working behind his back to help Desmond because she knows it will make Widmore mad. Don't know if she is his wife like some people say, or daughter. Little bit fuzzy here. In the island scenes Desmond and Locke find themselves kindred spirits. When Locke tells Desmond that there was someone watching him, and shows him the printouts and explains the orientation for the Pearl station, Desmond flips out. He can't believe he was set up. Locke explains the situation with Eko and Desmond decides to show him something he thinks can help Locke with his quest to stop the button from being pushed. Meanwhile, Sayid convinces Jin to join him off shore to make sure things are kosher with the Walt rescue. Jin absolutely does not believe that Michael is "compromised" and comes along more to keep an eye on Sayid. "

You know I let you know what's going on. The episode tonight is titled "Three Minutes", they say that's the time that the "Others" allowed Michael to see Walt. It should be a good episode. Do you know that you can go to the abc site and watch last weeks episode? They're three of them there so far. A special called "Reckoning", "Two for the Road", and "?". "Three Minutes should be available tomorrow. What's great is they are all free to watch. Watching so far ahead of where you guys are may be confusing however. Just thought you would want to know. Hopefully you guys can access the site from there. Here's the Link: http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing Oh! I almost forgot, I have heard that there is going to be a least three seasons of LOST. Hope the knee is doing better.

Which Karate Forums Member Would You Most Like To Meet?
gheinisch replied to Sohan's topic in General Chat
Wow! This all sounds great. I don't know what's left to bring but I work for a grocery store so I should be able to find something to pitch in. -
Welcome to KF.

Hey KarateK, You gotta love the waiting part with Doctors. My Dad fell and broke his hip last week and had to wait a week to see a specialist, my Dad has two artificial hips which complecates things. After the long wait the Doctor told him there was nothing he could do too speed anything along and that surgery now would do him no good. Well, at least my Dad can get around with a walker until the fracture heals. He was glas he didn't have to have surgery. I hope your injury isn't as bad as you think and it will start feeling better soon. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

There has been several guesses as to how the show will end. We have the finale two hour episode here next week. The previews shows all the losties staring out into the ocean and Claire saying "Oh my God". Some are saying it's a tsunami they see, others are saying it's another plane crashing. Maybe even their plane. And others say it's a boat. Who knows, we'll just have to what and see for ourselves. One thing for sure though, I'm sure in the LOST tradition it will leave more questions then answers.
