Smart Sparring 101
CTpizzaboy replied to monkeygirl's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
Power comes from proper techniques. It should happen that even if someone block your kick or punch, it going to hurt. In sparring, always be moving, its the only way to keep your opponent off guard. -
The victim of a mcdojo speaks out
CTpizzaboy replied to SaiFightsMS's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
That article represents have I feel about McDojos, and instructors who go to seminars for three weeks and get a certificate for $200. Some instructors go to these seminars and afterward claim that they know judo, jujitsu or some other art. Why should I pay keep on paying from month to month for something that an instructor learned over a couple of weeks. -

Good luck at testing, monkeygirl. I love going to testing. It gives me an adrenaline rush, but without all the bruises which I get at tournaments. Relax and remember that all the judges want you to past; at least thats what my sensei tells me.

I have three things to say: First, "no i don't think so just the black sheeps haha" TigerKorea quote: A TRUE MARTIAL ARTIS does not talk rather he shows that is the true martial artists.. you guys talk to much. [CT]pizzaboy quote: We're on the f@cking internet. I can not show you my ability, nor can you. "Be like water my friend" Easy on the saki next time you enter this forum. Keep that in mind, write it down and repeat it until you can say it fives times fast.

McGee, those girls were nice. I wouldn't mind coming to class everyday if those girls were there. How did you get those pictures there in your post?

Taokara, what belt are you? If you are a beginner, don't put yourself down too hard. Just learn the basic (font kick, side kick, roundhouse kick) and the forms will come later. Remember to rechamber your kicks, and always have your knees bent, even in attention stance. Most beginners are terrible in their stances, especially the front stance and horse stance. And why so much emphasis on your kata? Unless you are going to compete in kata competition, the kata should not look perfect. "Without resistant, you will not grow as a martial artist or as a person. Fight your way through and you will become a greater."

In other words, Yoda is a really good procrastinator. lol. But so am I. Procrastinators around the world unite at http://www.pogo.com.

As a wise man once said, "Baseball is all wrong, a man with four balls can not walk." As a talking bear in a ranger hat once said, "Remember kids, only you can prevent your gonads from getting kicked. Always wear a cup." (Might be obscure to international folks who don't know who is Smokey the Bear.)

Knowledge is power, but for knowledge to be of any good, one must comprehend and use it effectively. Knowledge is no good to a idiot. However in this case, the idiot is a VTG and is effective as Homer Simpson working at the Springville Nuclear Power Plant.

Doctor Dave is one smart sun-of-a-gun. How you come up with that diagnosis? I bet you can talk to animals too. Well, my goldfish hasn't been eating for a week and just seems to be swimming on his side, and sometimes not swimming at all. I thought made he wants a different diet, he's been on fish flakes for about 5 months, so I threw in a T-bone steak. He didn't want that either. What should I do, doctor? Van, I say you go show the pretty lady how a real man treats a lady. Buy her some flowers, take her to the movies, whisper how gorgeous she looks into her ear...you know where I'm going with this. I think you have a chance. And if you see the b@stard, say, "If you don't want your balls to be in your stomach, I suggest you stay away." Good luck.

Sport, street fighting, and personal growth....
CTpizzaboy replied to YODA's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Awesome article. I like the part where he said that only a small percentage of students actually compete. Most are there to learn what they can do or can't do, and to have a good time. There is no illusions that they can be the next Bruce Lee or be able to beat up a football player. In reality, the weight difference is the main factor in "just get an ass beating", or "your head rip off and shove up your ass". That's why boxing have weight categories; that's why NHB competetions have weight categories. -
Welcome, monkeygirl. I didn't know TKD had weapons? Good luck at tournament.

Great article. Copied that one for later reference.

Welcome. Just remember that belt don't hit back. Or is it that belts just keeps your pants up and boards don't hit back? Ahh, bloody hell, I don't know. -
Top Ten Reasons for Breaking Boards by Tae-Kwon-Leap
CTpizzaboy replied to Ti-Kwon-Leap's topic in General Chat
 Who needs trees anyway? They just block our streets and wreck our cars and litter the ground when they decide to shed. And who said they can reproduce and pollenate. Damn seeds make my eyes watery and nose itchy and arse all sweaty. I say we cut them down and use them for board breaking benefits for the guy down the street who lost his dog. The poor guy's been crying for the past week. Keep that in mine the next time you break a board. Do it for Timmy. -
Cars are like women. I like them red hot with the tops down. Covettes rule!!!

You should probrably see a doctor who specializes in back pain (a cyropractor, my spelling sucks). Maybe you should try going to the gym with a trainer and work out the back. Maybe they can tell you what you should do and what you shouldn't to get your back to normal. Or maybe...have you ever tried rolling around with two naked girls while they're covered in jello. I haven't either, but I'm sure it'll help. _________________ I often quote myself. It adds spice to my conversations. [ This Message was edited by: [CT]pizzaboy on 2002-04-30 10:06 ]

Try http://www.kickboxing.com. On the left side, there will be links to information on various art.

I rented that game. Awesome game but it takes awhile to learn all the characters move. My favorite character was Jacky, but he's a fluke. His profile says he studies jeetkundo, however all his combinations were leg oriented.

Don't know what you mean. Is this at tournament or in class? Usually at tournament, if I lose, I'll just be mad at myself, or at the referee for the bad call, or at the old lady who was driving slow in front of me when getting there, or at my dog for peeing on my uniform the night before and made me wash it. But everything will be alright. Why? Because I know I tried my best, and that the medicine I took will calm me down.

Your background is the two Thai fighter in blue, and the foreground is your actual page, with the text and pictures. That's how I saw your web page. When I scrolled, the background stayed in one place, while the text scrolled. Cool effect, but after a while, that made me dizzy. Maybe its just me, bro, but thats how I felt. Oh, well.

Looked over your site. Got alot of cool pictures. I know the site is still in progress, but because of the pictures, the first page took awhile to loaded, even with a t3 connection. And the colors, what's up with with the blue and pink and yellow. You got alittle carried away. But the scrolling action was the worst part. It made me dizzy. And after a while I said, "What the h*ll?", and all I did was scrolled the page. I felt like I just had a couple a beers, which is bad, but without the nagging hang-over, which is good. Did a great job of bringing the experience home. Tone done the colors, I would suggest concrete gray, and anchor the background, and your site will be killer.
