The yell is what only Bruce Lee could do and look cool doing it. If I tryed it, WUAAHHH!!; it just doesn't sound right and I'll look stupid at the same time. Its only what Bruce Lee could do, like what only Michael Jordan can do. -
Welcome to the board, Ryu.

Great post, Jack. I sometime spend to much time training, and not enough time with the family. But as you said, balance is the key. When that balance is not found, a good therapist will help. Nothing more degrading to pay someone to listen to your problems. Wouldn't recommend it. For some of us, it just takes alittle bit more time to find out where we are; to achieve balance in life. The wise sage has spoken. Do not resist or you shall be struck by lighting. Either Aikidoka is very smart or he's copying and pasting the info. When we discuss the origin of the universe we're diving really deep into philoshopy. If there's one universe, can there be others out there? What is real "reality"? Should reality be base on science? If so, science saids that the computer you're sitting at is not a solid object, but millions of atoms floating freely in space. Philosophy is the search of truth. What is truth? What is reality? -

Harpoon speaks the truth. May we honor him with mangos and a dead bull. Seriously, in a real fight basic teakwondo techniques learned at white belt will work. -

Sweet intro. Nice job of offending every fat ******* on this board. By the way, I'm not fat, and who wouldn't mine being rich. However, I work my a$$ off. Come to the big cities like Los Angelos, Chicago or New York and you'll see the proverty in the minority community, such as Hispanics, Chinese, and Black and you'll be damn sure that not everyone is rich or fat. Do you want to hear drive-by shootings almost every night, afraid to sleep because a stray might f*cking nail your little brother in the head? Are you afraid to walk done a part of town because it the cript's section? Welcome to the board. Stick to martial arts. "If you always keep an open-mind, people will throw thrash in it."

Does anyone know about a stlye called "chito ryu yoshu kai" karate? Been searching on the internet but have not found any information. There's a school in my area that teaches this style, and thinking about taking classes. [ This Message was edited by: [CT]pizzaboy on 2002-02-06 15:32 ]

Same time blocking and punching

Drills such as YODA descirbe are great, but it takes alot of experience and time to refine, and practice it into ones dynamic fighting style. In a fight or sparring match there are so many variables to consider, and having the timing to implement ones offense is a matter of seconds. -
I agreed with -briusmc- because thats the exact same thing I'm doing right now. I can not find a descent school so I pick one, it was a taekwondo school. I bought a few books, borrow ones I could not afford at the library, and bought a heavy bag. I go to class to learn the forms and get a belt, thats the only reason I go to class. I do most of the training at home.

hahah, lol. Its alright to laugh at someones pain, as long as they are not dead. haha -
Alright, in layman terms, Joe, work out your arms by lifting weights. Focus on you forearm for speed. The biceps, triceps shoulders and back for the power in a punch. Buy you a book that has illustrations on how to do these excercises correctly so you do not injure yourself. "Train hard and kickass."
