  1. Yes, agree. I do the same when I was doing Muay Thai. By rolling a piece of round wood on my Shin slightly with pressure and practising with your senior. By that time, your shin would be get accustomed to be hitted. Prepared your shin first. But of course, correct way of blocking by shin has little technique that is difficult to describe by wording. You needed to go to MT gym for knowing this.
  2. http://www.mmachina.com/ Anyone know about the organisation????
  3. http://hulong.servehttp.com:6970/index.html This website show not only Sanda but also many UFC competition. Real good site
  4. This is really a good competition in 26th June in China, I have not seen the video yet but this time both fight great. But I would say that Royama is a great master to try Sanda rule for which his fighter is not familiar with. Maybe I would try to find some link for the competition Sanda vs Karate = 5 vs 0
  5. The site is https://www.fareastfightingarts.com. Anyone else suspisious? Or is this legit? Very Suspicious. From the website: >>The seven animals chosen by Da Mo, the bear, mantis, crane, cobra, >>tiger, mongoose and dragon were animals with practical and effective >>fighting movements. Being a Chinese, uneven we are not quite sure about Da Mo, but the major thing he taught is something like Qi Gong only. So called animals style for Shaolin are Dragon, Snake, Tiger, Leopard, Crane. Wrong history 1. Da Mo has gone to China in 4 A.D. or 5 A.D. not B.C. 2. Wu Tang is never a name for Buddist style of martial art but rather where Taoists have their own way of fighting style. 3. Shaolin temple is never triad society until 17 century when Qing Dynasty, ruling by Manzhou race, overthrown Ming Dynasty, ruling by Hans race. >>History has it that Da Mo, the Bodhisattva warrior, arrived in China >>from India in 217 B.C. and brought with him advanced forms of animal >>fighting styles of martial arts that originated from the eighteen animals >>of the ancient yogas. Not only is this mentioned in Buddhist records but >>is also depicted on the stone carvings and rubbings from the >>tombstones of the ancient fighting monks. To some it is called the "lost >>art" or the "unknown art," but to the highly trained triads of the Wu >>Tang it was known as "shenghun," which means "animal spirit."

  9. In Hong Kong, Wing Chun now become the main stream for CMA for some reason a) The effect of Bruce Lee b) Small area need for practising (Hong Kong property is very expensive due to lack of land) Choy Li Fu used to be the main stream over 70% from 70 - 80 but this need vast area on form c) only 3 fist form, 1 stick play, 1 butterfly sword and 1 dummy-play

  13. San Shou = Combation of practical combat technique that taken out from form Sanda = Chinese way of free fighting rule Sanda started from 1984 again after the Cultural Revolution end on 1978 During the revolution, martial artists are being insulted or killed by political reason. Chinese Martial Art decline and stopped for nearly 1 decade from 1968 - 1978. Meanwhile, Chinese martial art divide into 2 mainstreams: 1) Wushu - Using Long fist (One of the northern style Chinese boxing) to represent and emphasis on jumping and flowery skill. Present only in form and demonstration. Combat technique is nearly ignored. 2) Sanda - Wearing glove and nearly full set of protection - Helmet, Body shield, glove and knee pad. Punching, Kicking, Throwing are allowed but no knee or elbow. Recent years, rules are open more to allow knee and elbow with pad. And taken off the Helmet, Body shield. Just remain glove and groin pad.
  14. Have this movie, "Ong Bak" been shown in your country yet? I think the actor seems to be the best after the late Bruce Lee.
  15. Anyone hear about this????????????? No protective shell and only power-absorbed shoes????????
  16. In the ring, the main difference is the Wing Chun fighter has to wear glove that to a certain extent avoid 2 things: a) Sensitivity of palm that generate from "Sticky hand" b) Normal using of fist because glove block this But I can say Wing Chun's elbow force that generating help neck wrestling in Muay Thai. I have been playing with a guy who practised WC & MT and lighter than me 20 Lbs has an upper hand on me when doing neck wrestling. Hope you guy understand what I am saying
