  1. Battousai16, are the books good reads? I have never read one. If you like reading books with "bad" dudes in them, check 'Cain' by James Byron Huggins, or any of his books. Great guy books. Lots of action and thrills and guns.
  2. Just to be nit picky here Sevenstar, but I believe, JMHO, the saying means that those who trust in their own understanding and do things in their own power, not relying on God for anything, get the help from God. But I digress from the current subject. Job relied solely upon God and not himself, Don't know anytinhg about Barak, and Noah did exactly as he was told to do. Didn't trust in his own power or understaning at all. I guess we just look at this saying differently. God bless to you Sevenstar. And the second part of my statement was just a general one for everybody to read my article (shameless plug).
  3. Yes it was Poser Batman that took him out, but Bats took out the man who beat Bane. He is more cunning and my point was that in a mano a mano fight with both fresh and ready to go, Bats would take Bane. Bane caught him in physical exhaustion. I also differ in that I think Bond would be a pushover for Batman. Two very different fighters and ways of doing things. It is no contest to me.
  4. *edit*double post*
  5. Backyard vigilante? The guy's a billionaire. He has better deductive reasoning powers than Bond any day. He has had his share of babes, he has way better gadgets, and he kicks serious butt. Battousai, Bane was hyped up on drugs and eventually got what was coming to him. Bats had also just got done catching every criminal that Bane released from Arkam Asylym that night before fighting him. He was exhausted.Batman also went thru his own addiction to Venom though and he was unstoppable then, too. Bats is just better, hands down.
  6. Batman would kick the crap out of James Bond. 'Nuff said.
  7. This is not a biblical teaching, Sevenstar. You will not find it in the bible. I suggest everyone to read the article on Christians in the Martial Arts in the article section to get just one perspective on this subject. Sorry, couldn't help the plug. Heheh.
  8. No I do not. I have not meditated in the MA's for quite a few years now. My last school just didn't do it.
  9. Very true. Hence that is why I am not studying any art at the moment. That and lack of money. I am focusing on my family right now. That can also take the place of Christ if you are not careful. ANYTHING can.
  10. No. It is just a topic that I, as a Chrisitan, feel should be addressed. So many things in this world can tempt us to stray away from Christ that MA'a do not have to be one of them. Also, I saw many topics talking about this very thing. Just wanted to give my two cents.
  11. Saw it Saturday night. Very good movie. Loved the ninja scene. Sword play and fights were well choreographed. Definately an owner for me.
  12. I agree with you, but with one caveat. Most Christians today do not know how to properly use this "filter". Therefore my warning still stands. Just to err on the side of caution and not put yourself into a compromising situation and keep yourself safe from undue influence. But point well taken. Thanks.
  13. Thanks. Now I'll definately be surprised.
  14. I enjoyed it very much and I am only 33. I remember turning the dial on our TV as a kid, then, about the time I turned 8 or 9, we got cable. The remote for cable had a wire connecting it to the box. The wire was about 10 ft long. Wow, I feel old.
  15. Saw a book about it the other day. Kinda strikes me as a Dances With Wolves kinda story set in Japan. I haven't seen it, am I close?
  16. Amen brother! Love that line of thinking.
  17. Give him a verbal warning. If he persists, pop him one. He will then know you mean business. People who don't have weight problems can't understand the emotional turmoil you go through. If words will not persuade him to lay off your weight, to me that justifies a physical warning. If you do this though, you must be willing to commit if he retaliates. Put him in his place. My son, who is 8, has a weight problem. He weighs 118 lbs. He is tall for his age and when he gets older, we believe he will be close to 6'4". He has asthma and takes a steroidal inhaler for maintanence of his ailment. I feel this contributes to his overwieght condition. Not all but enough to make it difficult for him. People tease him as well and it takes its toll on him emotionally. I fear for the kid that finally makes him snap when I am not there to help him control his temper or intervene for him. My point is, people are idiots and do things that hurt others. Just look at the playground sometime. Talking doesn't always cut it. The true master never fights because he already gave his licks to people on the road to mastery. Example....Hee Il Cho.
  18. I "attacked" one of the non-related articles. I'd hate to see what happens when I really attack something if that was considered an attack. I simply stated I think she has problems with her parents way of life that could possibly cloud her judgments on other areas of life. It does happen. Be more specific next time to stop the confusion, Reckless.
  19. She appears to have some unresolved childhood issues with her parents. I'm not a psychologist, but she argues too adamantly in favor of her beliefs and against others. I was particularly offended by her rantings on the Church of Christ, when we Xn's, as she types it, do not all buy into their practices. Some of us do read our 'Holy Book', and use logic in understnding it. Too bad for her with all that bitterness to spill over to other parts of her life, such as the Martial Arts. JMHO.
  20. Just saw it yesterday. Have to say, I was disappointed. The ending was a big letdown. Action was good, effects were great, it just wasn't very strong on explanation. Left it open for the inevitable sequel. 2 stars out of four. My advice? Go to a matinee. It's cheaper. This one is least of the three.
  21. Okay, the Chiefs are gonna kick McNabb's butt, because he is overrated. How's that?
  22. Off topic, but, "How 'bout those Chiefs!!!!!!" Yeah! 8-0!!!!!
  23. OUCH! That one hurt......
  24. I am 9. I am a performer.
  25. Now, please take this link with a grain of salt, because the publisher who it comes from, does have something to gain from this article. That said, here it is. http://w3.blackbeltmag.com/featurecontent/view.asp?article=485
