  1. Live by the number one rule of: No whining! Also never enderestimate the power of determination. It is good to set goals and once you obtain them, have new goals. Truely successful people have a reason to get out of bed. Good luck!
  2. Other: Either we wear nothing for light contact, or we put on a foam instep/shin guard. No boots.
  3. AGKK, excellent response!

  6. This is good stuff. I would add fingertip pushups, doing pushups with your feet elevated, and pullups. Jump roping is awesome. Standing in deep stances can also help your legs. I try to add bag exercises as well. Lately, I have been running 3x a week, 3-5 miles at a time. This has helped me more than anything with my endurance. All you need are some really good shoes and some motivation. Good luck.
  7. Especially if he is representing you. BTW, Welcome to KF. How about registering your hands with the FBI as lethal weapons? I think I heard that on Happy Days. Give me a break. We have discussed this before, reasonable force as the situation dictates is the norm.
  8. Anyone ever hear about the submarine with the screen doors?
  9. I agree with the rank of the instructor and rating. I just gave those out just to give an indication of the levels of experience that have been available to me. I would also add that many of my instructors have had other MA experience as well and they all bring a slightly different perspective to the table. I have had no regrets with the experience. In fact it has been the inspiration that I needed to get back into MA and into shape.
  10. Welcome to the forums.
  11. Withers, I'm still training there. The private arrangement that BBuilder spoke of doesn't apply to my school where we have access to many different instructors. I have been taught by two different 1st degrees, a third, two fourths, a sixth, and finally a seventh. I have been happy with the instruction and small class size. Also month to month is the norm and I have never been asked to sign a contract.
