  1. I see that in a lot of our classes and gradings. Unfortunatly there isnt a lot of adults in our dojo so a lot of the kids show hardly any passion or spirit, it angers me when they are given their belts when really they didnt deserve it.
  2. Well done hun i knew you could do it. So you dropped a few points, take it as a learning thing and stop being so hard on yourself. I think the examiners took into consideration your knee injury, i think you showed great determination to go for it. Well done Kez xx
  3. I agree with you Cathal, i find this kata difficult and i am rather small!
  4. What exactly do you mean by that Karate K? Were you being rude HeheKez xx
  5. I found this kick difficult to master at first but i soon got it right. Killer Miller has it spot on, follow what he says. Good luck with that one. Kez xx
  6. I love this programme, i missed the last one cos i was away but i will catch up for sure....Not sure if they should do another Rocky movie. I did love them all and own them all on DVD but i think its had it's day...i like the idea that karate k had about maybe it being his son, that could be good.
  7. Hmm yeah a gi is VERY sexy i think. But all depends on the person wearing it really...i'm not a man woman (if you get what i mean) lol. So yeah the ladies look rather cute. I must admit too i love wearing mine, i would wear it out socialising if i could lol Kez x
  8. Name..Kerry Titles..i have never competed...2nd kyu Height..5f 2 weight..9stone fave technique, mawashi-geri, mae-geri (same leg). And kata
  9. That rather large turning jump in Enpi...it took me ages to get that right without wobbling and loosing my balance, and of course getting the stance and technique right at the end of the jump. Through constant practising i finally have it right. Also ushiro-geri...i used to dread that kick, in combinations and stuff..but again constant practice and suddenly you can just do it...was very proud of myself hehe. Kez x
  10. I remember streets as rage on the sega, i'm not sure but i don't think they had any magical powers. I loved that game. Unfortunatly when we were kids we wern't lucky enough to have any of the really old consoles. I can't really go much further back than the sega. Kez
  11. Thanks for your input everyone. I continue as i am for now until i am comfortable enough to speed up more Kez
  12. I am so struggling with kanku-dai fingers crossed i don't get it for gradings just yet. Kez
  13. Bassai Dai is a brilliant kata. I to kept making the mistake of bringing my front foot in when doing the uchi uki, but you just have to keep a metal note of not to do it and you'll be fine. This kata also requires lots of hip movements for the twists and turns. Like everyone else says, practice practice practice...and good luck to you. Kez x
  14. I agree with you. Our sensei does the same at black belt gradings, makes the students perform a few of the heian kata's and like you i am often practising them all from kihon kata to the more advanced ones.
  15. What a complete show off and a let down to MA. I like wearing my gi and have lots of photo's but would never wear it out in public like that, like to go shopping and stuff...thats just asking for trouble. Guess all i can say is that he deserved it!
  16. Shotokan of course!! I did try shukokai once and that was ok, but my best is shotokan.
  17. My sensei tends to advise anyone going for black belt to chose bassai dai
  18. https://www.play.com For cheap dvd's, games, ect..really good!
  19. Oops sorry i did that wrong..soz shotochem i added to your post lol I meant to say flippin' eck in his 70's..i would love to meet him lol
  20. I haven't tried Ji'in yet. Working on unsu at the moment. Jion and bassai dai being my favourite. The kat's at this point seem to be getting harder and harder. I love kata though so i am prepared to put 100% in and get past those difficult parts.
  21. Aww bless. Keep training hard and good luck with your up-coming test. My son was yellow belt for ages cos he wasn't ready, but it all paid off when he got his green belt! Good luck
  22. The only belt i ever washed was my white belt. I won't ever wash the others. As for my gi i just wash it with the rest of my whites on normal temperature, i have a lightweight gi so its pretty easy to launder.
  23. hey that looked really good, in some parts of the kata it reminded me of hangetsu. Good stances too! Kez
