yes SPM is similar to wing chun inmany ways.its a short in-fighting system that uses short power(ging)The hand techniques are similar. But both have a different flavor.SPM and WCK have similar weapons like the long pole and short knife. Both systems have sensitivity training.Thats about all I can tell you about it.By the way what is your email??I'll forward it to my friend.you can PM it to me if you like.. -

My friend who practices Jook Lum SPM comes from a different linage then sifu Henry Poo Yee.If you lIke I could pass on your email to him and he could tell you alot about this style.I have only limit information. He trains in New Jersey. There is no SPM sifu in NJ ,but his sifu comes every couple of months to train them very hard and check on their progress. If you could get a few people together who like to study SPM.Im sure he would come down and train you guys.My friend is making very good progress in the system. In this style you need a training partner. There are many drills that are practiced with a partner..Anyway,if your very interested in SPM would I would check out my friends sifu. He's from Chicago. He has excellent skills. Good luck.. -

It could be that maybe your sifu has a problem comunicating his ideas. Some sifu are good fighters but not always the best teachers. -

Wing Chun, Krav Maga or Kali
stonecrusher69 replied to MFGQ's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I say Wing chun is best only because its what I study.Kali is good also with sticks and knifes but they don't do much empty hand fighting.Kav maga Looks very effective from what I've seen in books. It looks like a combo of chinese striking arts, western boxing, and ju jitsu.
