  1. I like the subconcus mind thing, where you watch a shototkan karateka perform moves really fast so it mgets to your subconcius mind and you learn the moves. I dont think it worked though.
  2. Try sentances I goes like this. jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj. See a continuous flow. Dont worry no need to thank my expertes.
  3. Right now two really rock hard oppenants. My punchbag and a brick wall. No seriously I usually have quite a lot of confrontations at school. It just pisses me off when jerks pick on people purely for the fact that they know they wont fight back, I usually just grab them and slap them around a bit, and if they continue it I usually take it a bit furthur. Other than that ,No.
  4. Books are really good alongside lessons. Youi cant rerally learn an Art from a book, you really need a club for practical instruction with abook for reference of moves. Not really good on its own.
  5. If you took the average Kickboxer and the average Muay Thai fighter I would bet on the Muay Thai fighter. Although no Art is better than another, as VoiceOVUnreason said Muay Thai is a way of life where for an average kickboxer it would probobly consist of all his training only taking place at the session. I personally am not the average kickboxer, I train inm karate and kickboxing every day as well as conditioning my body to take a lot of punishment, as well as physical exercises. I amy be a kickboxer, but I'm just as tough as a Muay Thai, so yes, not every Muay Thai fighter would beat a kickboxer. And also I hate this fighting consisting of luck, its down to your instincts and your own spirit to make the right choices so no luck has nothing to do with it.
  6. Did I say karate was the best Martial Art? NO. An aggresive way of fighting is such arts like Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Shotokan, Boxing. This does not mean I am really angry, just like a person that does a soft style of Martial Arts isn't neccesrelly soft. And Bon thats what I was talking about being ignorant in a know it all way, when I started at this forum and knew to all the Martial Arts apart from Karate so I did tend to be a bit Biased to thinking things like which Martial Arts is better than the other, things that pretty much everyone on this forums has made when they first join.
  7. Traditional style is for self defence as that is its basis. Sport is just so people can fight each other. Personally sport karate is kickboxing. Personally I dont start confrontations unless its justified. But when confrontations face me I dont avoid it, I stand up and fight. Personally I think they should get whats commin to them. _________________ Red belt Kickboxer SAMA Organisation White belt Shotokan Karate Former black belt ECKA Karate 15 years old [ This Message was edited by: Eye of the Tiger on 2002-07-17 15:14 ]
  8. Oh and you havn't one anything, I have no doubt in my abilities or my self. I was a bit pig ignorant when I started at this forum but understanding what the Martial Arts are has got rid of that ignorance.
  9. Excuse me. That was posted more than a month ago, if you look at the top of the post you eill see the date.
  10. For a second there I was trying to remeber if I made that post. As you can see I posted that when I started here with no idea of the martial arts so of course I was a bit ignorant, and yes of course grappling is important if you like that. I prefer to spend my time training on aggresive fighting because that is my style of fighting so I'l do best fighting like that. And Kensai bring it on! You fight soft and I fight hard, it wont determin anything about the styles, some people prefer to be all rounded fighters and some are better at just sticking at one style of Martial Art there whole lives and be succesful. Its your choice.
  11. In a real life situation you would obviously be in a more up right stance, but the main reason for having low stances is for building up strengh inyour legs so you can become more powerful, and when your in a more upright stance fighting will seem more easy.
  12. Always drink a lot of water an hour before any training regime. Just 2 glasses of water keeps me fine for 2 hours of physical activity, without the need to drink. And like KickChick said, eat plenty of Carbohydrates an hour before.
  13. Mine is Shotokan Karate, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. I like these because of the aggresivness, and power.
  14. You can pick a martial art for myour suited body type for example if you are very strong and stocky shotokan is good as you can use your strong hand techniques, where as Judo if you have a short squatty physique you will be better for that martial art as you can get under their centre of gravity. Should we combine internal instinct to chooseing a martial art and your body type or should their just be one overal rule that people should follow? Any input is welcome.
  15. My self. No seriously the only weapon you should use or need to use is your self. But as this is the weapons forums I would have to say flame thrower or rocket launcher so I could eliminate large numbers of thugs at the same time.
  16. Escrima are two small sticks which are used in Kobodo and other styles.
  17. I know that when Shaoloin Kung Fu was being made that they trained to fight with every day weapons such as broomsticks, and buckets. But I think they have adopted more advanced weapons now such as swords and sticks.
  18. Good input there Withers M.A.A. Any more suggestions are welcome!
  19. I like America and like the link between are 2 countries bit it is unfortunate that some of the time like -: **** happens and you just have to deal with it.
  20. Like everyone else said, take a week off and then for motivation just think that if you mdont train that someone out there is gonna have that much more chance at beating you.
  21. Getting out of bed the next day after an intence training session!
  22. Sounds traumatic, I couldn't survive a night with nerds.
  23. I like Pe a lot and next year I start college which I will take PE, buisness studies and another subject I havn't decided yet. After 2 years at college I am going to join the Royal Marines Commandos as an officer. I will spend at least 10 years in there and probobly go into one of the special forces. When I come out I'l start my own dojo up, and be a motivational speaker or just write a book.
