In your other post you said you did Muay Thai for a couple of months. Knees and elbows are very effective. If you are facing a larger oppenant, its good to keep him at a distance and use your agility against him and constant kicking him with quick jabs and elbows. Anyway just go and join Muay Thai if you want. Follow your instincts. Go and introduce your self to everyone on the introductions forum.

Fight I just had
Eye of the Tiger replied to fightguy's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
No. Although it depends on the Martial Artist not the art, boxing cant really do much to a Muay Thai fighter considering their conditioning and the fact you can use all parts of your body, and he can only use his fists, and also you are similar strenghs and age. -
Acually, I was just messin with you. I started Shotokan 2 days ago when I went down to the club. I thought it was pretty funny watching everyone getting so stressed out with me, with one moment shotokan, the other Wado. Anyway I have found a rule witch for me works better than any other, I made it my self. Beleive in your self, and let your instinct guide you to your Martial Art.

Kensai! He asked if SHOTOKAN was japanese, not its roots!

Right Kensai listen up! I might have changed my idea on what I wanted from a martial art, but that was due to different experiances and encounters, for example just talking to experianced MAs, going to the clubs. You think I just sat at home dreaming of which MA I wanted to do. NO. I went out and something about it, and different experiances changed me in different opinions. I do Wado Ryu because I enjoy not only fighting aggresivley which you can do in any style even if it is soft, but the fact that I have a lot more confidence in the street knowing more all round motions that which for me shotokon lacks. So enough about me, back to the post.

Eye of the Tiger replied to blood talon's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
We use long stances to train in but preferably use shorter stances in a real life situation. -
Does anyone hate the US airforce
Eye of the Tiger replied to Eye of the Tiger's topic in General Chat
So you can see why I was pretty pist off. -
Well how do you. Is it down to instict, down to your body type, if you like the name? I made this post in order for us all to bring together are ideas and make almost like a rule for how to pick a martial art so that we can help other people pick the martial art by giving then a rule to go by. Bring your sugestions, don't be shy.

Van Damme is not a great actor but that isn't what his fans want to see. they come to see him rippling some muscles and beating the krap and unfortunately him getting beat up a lot. Seagul is an all right actor, I hate Chuck Norris hes such a nerd to me, Jackie is really funny, Bruce Lee is well Bruce Lee, Jet Li is okay but I dont really see him in a lot of films.

Action Movies
Eye of the Tiger replied to KickChick's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
Of couses Van Damme does all of his fighting scenes. Okay he might have stunt doubles on some of the more dangerous stunts, but why risk your life making a movie? I have always stood up for Van Damme and will continue to do so. Anyway, does anyone know anything about that rumour about Chuck Zito KO Van Damme, I think its just a lye. -
This shows how much love can drive a human being to do such things.

Lining Up and Bowing In
Eye of the Tiger replied to KickChick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
We have a 10 minute warm up usually a sempai but if none are present then the sensei will do it. After this thew Sensei will bring his feet together and as he does this he claps his hands against his legs and bows as do everyone else and sais 'Mus'. Then evryone turns to the left incline and gets onto the floor in a kneeling position and bows agin repeating 'Mus' and then bow again 'Mus'. -
The creators of all the Martial Arts and put together a super style of Martial Art.

Hi welcome, the belt means how long you'v been here and how many posts you make I think. -
Maybe in London Bitseach, but here in the south no CCTV cameras. Who here thinks English police should start carrying guns rather than relying on a little black stick.

You could condition your self to take a hit or two. A great way to do this is to take what ever you feel is fragile to take a hit like your head or nose. Then get a pad (even a glove will do), now hit your self for example on the head, do low to moderate so your not waching it but still hiting it with some force. Do this for five to ten minutes or when ever your head gets numb then you woiuld have increased the strengh of that area. I do this with my head and its a lot tougher just after 2 days.

Thanks for the advice although I finally made the dicision that I am staying at my Wado Ryu. I decided this after talking to one of my dads friends who has tried loads of Martial Arts inclueding shotokan and Wado Ryu. I soon relized that I can fight aggresivly in both styles, even the defencive techniques can be fought in a aggresive manner. I like the feel of Wado Ryu as a whole martial art so I amsticking to that. Thanks everyone for giving me advice, but when it comedown to it you just got to try it out.
