Check out http://www.24fightingchickens.com and go onto shotokan 101, and then click on what is Karate, and scroll down the page and gives you definitions of the different styles. Of and what do you mean pants that dont fit us? You try saying that to a karate student and you'l see just what they can do with that style.

OK this is the basis of this debate. I made a pretty stupid and ignorant post when I started up at this forum. Someone decided to bring it up again. Kensai makes some kind of threat as a kind of joke saying that grappling is not a waste of time. I come in and say I am not scared, and say that grappling is not a waste of time, and that I prefer to aggresively of and if everyone doesn't really know what an aggresive martial art is a good example is shotokan. You'lfind this out at http://www.24fightingchickens.com Then people say what is an aggresive martial art? I give examples, one of them is wing chun and from veiwing link after link of this ,artial art which toi me looked aggrswive I decided to put that in. Then Kensai sais it is not aggresive, I say from what I saw it looks aggrtesive. You say you cant make an assumption on a few videos, true you probobly cant but how was I to know? Then people go into mixing up aggresiveness with hard, I changed the subject to hard as a means of trying to expalin Wing Chun from the way I saw it. So pretty much this whole big argument is based on Wing Chun. I have found out about Wing Chun and it is a combination of both soft and hard styles. Remember from what I have seen it only appeared as a very aggresive martial art with only using hard techniques against the oppenant. I can now say that you have corrected me. But I hope you can see my point of the argument with the fact of my self veiwing countless videos on Wing Chun it appeared very aggresive. But not being the gullable push over I was I didn't really want to accept anything and decided to back up all my posts. Through looking at all the posts I have made, the only one that isn't really correct is the Wing Chun bit. Everything else I stand by.

A hard style is to devastate the oppenant and to inflict enough damage on the oppenant so he can no longer attack you. Is this garbage? Soft style where you try to be in harmony with the attacker and to try to neutralize the attacker with at the same time without trying to inflict damage on the attacker. Sure Aikido has nutralixing techniques that do 'hurt' the oppenant but as far as I know the main principle is to try to nuetralize the oppenant wothout trying to inflict damage. By the way is this also garbage?

Do you have some kind of alliance. How can you not say that Kensai was wrong by saying that Muay Thai fighters not tough. You have pointed out in this thread that a Muay Thai fighter cant sustain a kick to the head. Have you ever seen a Muay Thai match. They get kneed, elbowed kicked in the face but they can still carry on, correct me if I'm wrong. Did I ever say they are invincible? They can withstand a kick to the head by that they can resist a KO. Oh and if you you and your little friends dont beleive me then why dont you try and find a link and then get back to me. I think you'l be pleasently surprised. By the way I said that Muay Thai fighters can sustain a kick to the head that wont KO them.

I'm actually going to attend some Aikodo lessons during the holidays. So what exactually do you mean by 90% of my posts dont make scence. Which ones exactually? Oh and you seem to be the master of copy and paste. I thought I might give it a go. lol Anyway I cant really see how I am wrong in any of my posts, soft blocks? Yes there is such a thing maybe not referd to as a soft block. Open palm blocks is a good example of a soft block, is this also garbage.

Just run every day for as long as you can, preferably 20 mins a day is good.

Aikido is a soft Martial Art. "Aikido is a method of self defense whose goal is to neutralize an attacker without causing the attacker any serious injury if at all possible. One of its most basic principles is to blend with an aggressor's energy and redirect it in a manner to subdue the attacker. Thus, in a sense, the aggressor is defeated by himself! Using this principle; therefore, it is possible for a small person to topple even the greatest of opponents. The name "Aikido" is comprised of the three words: (Ai), harmony; (Ki) spirit or energy; and (Do) the method or the "way"."

What are Your Favorite Combo's..........
Eye of the Tiger replied to coltmakai's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. I dont really have combos I just follow Muhamed Ali's principle. I do what is right depending on the situation, planned combos usually dont work when in a fight anyway. -

Urr your wrong in this scence. But tiger, Mauy Tai prationers arent "tough" as you put it, it is more about the mental condition that they and all budo, combat and self defence artists usually address one time or another in there training. It is true that they have a lot of mental preperation but you refer to the Muay Thai fighters as not tough. Urr Thats where your wrong. So Kensai can you point out where I am wrong.

First of all I have not contridicted my self. Hard for me is the same as aggresive. No Kensai I have never been bulled. I said I had a lot of fights when I was young. I dont really see how I am speaking utter garbage by trying to define an aggresive martial art and a soft. I have not changed the subject I have merley used hard as aggresive, which as far as I know it is. Kensai I merley pointed out that you cant make a single post without picking bits out and trying to find some flaw in them, which isn't really a big deal as you make it to be. My first grading is in 3 months Kensai.

Sex and Martial Arts
Eye of the Tiger replied to diamondick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I heard about this with boxers. Lenex Lewis was describibng that having sex beore a fight gave them more power, and others drained them of it. -
I am a Crab Rabbit How do you find your element?

Urr wrong again Kensai. You obviously know absolute jack about Muay Thai. Muay Thai fighters condition them selves to the point where they can sustain kicks to the head. There was a tournament with Kung Fu vs Muay Thai. All the Kung Fu people lost in the first rounds through KOs in 10-15 secs. 2 Years later the Kung Fu people challenged them again and the same thing happend. It wasnt down to their technique or the style but the fact that they never train in full contact and their bodys where not capable of sustaining such blows to the head that Muay Thai fighters are trained to stand and what makes them or breaks them. Be Well

Kensai I was giving an example of a soft Martial Art technique which is kind of the principles in Wado Ryu. A hard technique would be to hurt the oppenant, and yes I have been doing quite a bit in hard martial arts. I have done full contact karate from the age of seven to ten, and have been doing boxing since twelve up to about a few months ago when I decided to start kickboxing. Plus when I was young I always got into scrapes with the older kids so dont tell me what I dont know what hard is. A soft and a hard martial art can be intepretted in many ways. From what I have learnt, from books, actually talking to experianced martial artists I have kind of got the message that basically that a hard technique would be to inflict your own strengh on the oppenant, and a soft way would be to inflict less violant technique where you can resist an oppenant without inflicting damage, by using his/her strenghs against them selves. So how am I wrong. i know from experiance through actually trying to talking to you that it is immposible for you to agree with me that hard is to hurt an oppenant and soft uses the oppenants strengh against them selves. Wing Chun combines both soft and hard techniques, but from how I have seen it, it appears very aggresive in its technique rather than using its softer techniques. Thats how I have seen it. I have only seen from about five or six videos clips that it only appears aggresive, and yes Kensai I did my homework and found out that Wing Chun combines both soft and hard. But in the fights that I have seen I have only seen hard techniques. Can you see a little bit of my point without picking peices out of each and every single post I make? Oh I havn't even been in the chat room.

The main connection are chain, cord or horse hair but I think the most popular are chain.

At my old karate place you did Kobodo, but at my new shotokan place we do Kobujutsu.
