cathal makes a fine point. Look inside first. I am not suggesting that you doing anything wrong but sometimes I know I give off appearances that I do not realize that I am doing it. It could just be a simple understanding. -
Green tea with some flavoring. I use to enjoy straight green tea but now adays it needs to be mixes with some fruit or mint or something

A DRUNK DRIVER RAN INTO OUR DOJO!!!

It was a bad thing but better early in the morning then during class. I hope that everything works out well while you get things back together -
It is. it is. it is....

That would be among the stangest. I hope but each year...it's almost like being a Cubs fan with the "wait until next year" attitude. I'm not a Cubs fan though...it would be too much dissappointment and heatbreak for one year...every year.

Sci-Fi Geek Question
patusai replied to bat in a birdless village's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Nice question. Personally, if the computer were programed with the abilities of a respected master and the training was allowing the computer to actually think and train in the masters mind then it would be and should be honored (IMHO). The computer could be used to jusge tournaments and, because it is a computer subjectivness in decisions would not be a problem...unless programed in. As forc the PSII sim...give it about 200 years to develop to the level of the holodeck and..maybe. You asked a great question. I will be interested in reading other answers. -
I had a 2" belt. At first it was indeed difficult to tie but a few years later as it "softened" it is fine. I remember initially I was struggling trying to skoosh the knot so it would work nice.

Depends on how drunk you get once a month. There seems to be benefit to drinking but not heavily

Every day there is something. Since I have taken to talking to myself at work (since nobody listens) people use to think that I was crazy. With the cel phone headsets now, I can talk to my self to my hearts content and people think that I am on the phone with someone! Technology...it's wonderful

Sometimes people think that karate is more difficult than it actually is. "I can't be a green belt because I'm not at that high a level yet!" Relax, trust your sensei. it's Karate and not astrophysics that you are studying. enjoy the path!!

I think that a lot of kata change is done for three reasons: Show - It has to look good especially in competition Individual preference - Techniques are added and or subtracted for a variety of reasons. Some feel that their change is bringing the techique back to it's original point. forgetfullness -- people do kata, forget specific techique and it never materializes in the kata as it is passed down

How can you defend yourself in a car?
patusai replied to mintai2003's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
My thoughts too -
I had mine out in college years ago. The teeth themselves can break easier than the others. The dentist had to cut the gums to get the roots. It was winter and after a night class I was in my car getting ready to go home. My teeth started chattering. The chattering movement spanned beyond point that my jaw was able to move. With every chatter there was great pain. I bit down on my glove to try to stop the movement but that did not help either. Many times the experience is good. It's just the bad stories that overwhelm the good ones. Good luck on having a good experience

Oliers .. Maybe next year Blackhawks!

I have played off and on since the late 60's. Although that may seem like a long time and I should be pretty good at it by now...I'm not. I play to please myself. As for what kind a guitar I have, It's a cheap Yamaha which my wife got for me a few years ago after I sold my cheap electric guitar and my 12 string. I'm nowhere at the level of play that I need or want a really good guitar

Biass in competitions
patusai replied to username237's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
Parents can be the worst. Pretty much every sport I watch I see parents out of control at some point. Either that or they are controlling things to the point where others have difficulties with them. They want to smooth lifes path in competition for their kids. Sometimes it's because they live their own youth over again through their children. In the end some of the kids get all messed up because their expectation of themselves and of the way that they eventually expect the world to treat them is not the way it is.
