i did consider giving up jujitsu when i first started because i found it quite tough and i didnt enjoy the throws and falling. now one year later, i love it more then ever!
hi welcome! you can buy nunchaku in england but they are illegal to carry with you unless in a case. you can use them in your house and at your club NO where else. if you need a site to buy them from ill be happy to give one to you.
1) yes we have hand, feet and groin gaurds. mouth and shin are optional. 2)medium, contact, no KOs 3) all techniques must hit the front and above the belt. the back isnt illegal just frowned upon really. 4)this is for TKD
MA means martial arts, we just shorten it coz we lazy i dont like people knowing i do MA, people just laugh and stuff. most people wouldnt ever know what jujitsu was!
thats a good combo; judo and jj, they would really compliment each other. from what i know, Bjj has more advanced ground techniques but less advanced throws/take downs then judo. please correct me if i am wrong. (i dont study Bjj)
oooow! on sunday i did 3 shin blocks in TKD and all 3 times my shin clashed with theres. Pain! but after you can let off an amazing back or side kick! try it. shin block to side kick.
in judo alot if not most throws are done with your back to the opponent. this is a valid point but not if your opponent has any sparring knowledge. i dont think you could do a good judo throw if your opponent is being aggressive i.e punching/kicking. but hay thats a completly different topic.
i have to say, it is my new fav technique. i landed my first reverse turning kick on sunday. i was almost to chuffed. it can be good but you do need speed (or a slow opponent ) ive been trying it for a while, im getting better just need some more speed.
