  2. Is it written by Naykamia? I don't know thats just a story I head. https://www.24fightingchicken.com I think goes into detail on it in its sections on kata.
  3. Sorry I hit post to soon lol Reasons for this vary but this one makes sense to me. The JKA goes by the Best karate books written by (sp) Nakiyamia. However he died before writting the book on Giin, Wankan, and Meyiko. So they have stopped doing them because those books are basically their guidlines.
  4. Kenneth Funakoshi still does it but under the spelling of Giin. Same kata. The JKA don't do a few now from what I hear such as Wankan, and Meiyko.
  5. If its a hook or wheel step in and attack if its a thrust catch or shift.

  10. Not a fan. I have many posts on this so Im not going into much detail but it pretty much goes arround the ideas of understanding the art and not just doing the moves.
  11. your can only be swep if you have to much weight on a foot all styles and all stackes are possible to be sweep. Has a lot ot do with how fast and strong the sweeper is.
  12. there is no age that is too young to train but there is to expect them to learn. Kids can not pick up the mental stuff they need to know. Put him in class all you want but dont let them give him a blackbelt at 8. IMO kids should not test for rank until they are in their teen years.

  24. Yondon comes quick to most because IMO Nidan is the hardest of the Heian kata. Sandan is not hard but does a lot of things you are not used to doing aka stops, elbows, double blocks, etc. Yondan is pretty straight out there not tricky at all. Its my fav. Heian kata by far.
