    Blocking

    I had a serious problem with blocking so i went to a muay thai gym and faught the thai fighters in a arena with shotokan, i never lost, i got experiance i learned some useful muay thai tricks and i learned how to block effectivly in a situation.

  7. Yep I take football(high school), soccer, paddling, competitive swimming, and raquetball.
  8. Im not interested in joining or anything, however its one of the martial arts i hear about and have no idea what it really is? Can anyone tell what its like and its focuses?

  10. yea i know what you mean, i was pretty lucky One of the best things you can do on the street is too know when to keep your mouth shut
  11. Yea i see your point, you are in trouble when you fight groups however when i was in muay thai we only faught one guy at a time in a ring. In shotokan we spar with 3 on 1 and were taught how to take care of the situation more? Doesnt mean the thai boxer cant take on groups, just i find we werent exactly taught techniques...

  14. Yea, i know a guy who took muay thai when i did and he got some sort of wierd thing where his whole body would involuntary twitch because he took so many kicks to the head...

  16. Yea to be frank, i think its pointless. You can use your time more wisely doing some better training
  17. also some people with little training may not be able to fight very well in a stance becase of their inexperiance
  18. Id say shotokan because it keeps it simple and it gives u a certain strength, also who you are matters to though
  19. ive had quite a few, or sometimes i just cant get motivated to do it well...
