  1. o yea you might want to get some books if you wanna mae the investment
  2. i agree i also find that post very limiting, iam not going to let statistics dictate my martial arts life, not ever
  3. yea i find its wierd all the tall people i meet are usually the flexible ones
  4. At first i find its usually true( i had a paper route for 17 cents a paper lol sometimes if i was lucky id get a 2cent bonus....talk about lame huh?) anyway later in life if you make sure and do everything in your power you can land a career that youll never want to leave, but then some things you just cant fight which really sucks
  5. I like books of any kind however i perfer history books and of warefare, also books about science i enjoy
  6. just to say...maybe you could ask the source of which you got it from, however the other posts sound perfect
  7. sounds very interesting i cant wait to be able to watch it, is it in stores in canada?
  8. i had the same difficulty what you can do is seperate the katas in sections, i do so in sets of usually 5-7 or when there is a noticible change in the kata practice that part until you feel comfortable and move on. Another method is to just do the kata with only foot work its difficult at first but very rewarding afterwards.
  9. Oh and another thing i find that works well on larger are knife hand strikes to the neck, just wanted to add that
  10. yea like the posts above but i do know what it is like to feel that kind of anger, luckly i managed to calm myself down somehow and talked to my instructor about it
  11. do you take this style since you seem to know quite a bit about it?
  12. lol that is cool, i enjoyed it very much
  13. just wondering but...how do you homemake a makiwara?
  14. i like to knee elbow or use short and very powerful techniques on someone who would charge at me, your own martial art may dictate what you use as well..
  15. i have a friend that can use high kicks very effectivly with little risk....sometimes a persons body type can also decide wether thell be able to effectivly pull off a high kick, just to point out...
  16. I think its commonly forgotten that quite often that a group of street fighters looking for a fight sometimes let you beat thier "friend's" head in.......however i think mostly youll get teamed
  17. i dont find so, most people i know think their tough street fighters lol. I find people usually only have respect for MAA because of UFC which is really to bad...
  18. i havnt however i would like to know who created it...........
  19. how long does it on average take?
  20. good point, certainly better explained than my own
  21. also if you ask your instructor hell probably have some tricks and some advice you can follow, i know my instructor helped me once try it...its one of the many many reasons he/she is there...
  22. lol i find the overwight seem to be able to take less then some people think, just depends what you use
  23. thats the whole thing i dont mean to sound ignorant but to honest i dont want thier respect and i dont care what they think about me i only care that it interfers with what iam trying to acomplish in martial arts and i shouldn't have to take my time or even think about or talk to the other person to get them to listen, but thats like asking people to change so considering my personality and the one i have a problem with there probably isnt relly a solution....
  24. Well i would agree, but i think the real answer is that i probably just have a big ego on the subject lol
  25. exactly but the whole main issue is that the guy he was fighting was supposed to be a vetern experianced muay thai fighter
