  1. What about this place? http://www.hrksf.com/ or http://www.seidosf.com/about/locations.php or http://www.geocities.com/sfshorinji/ or http://www.shaolinkenpo.com/ltsk.html Just for starters
  2. When I made black belt way back when, it was our tradition that once your belt is on, you could not remove it for 24hrs. That meant it got "washed" in a sense when you bathed. That was the only time my belt got wet, or if we had beach training. It does suck to walk around with a wet ring around your mid-section tho
  3. Yes, stretch as much as possible, but do it carefully. When working you sidekick, start out low like at knee level, that way you work on the mechanics of the kick properly. As your flexibility comes about, raise your sidekick
  4. Is this who you are inquiring about?? http://www.kempojutsu.net/
  5. Welcome aboard ......Hawaiian version of Kenpo/Kempo with a Chinese background
  6. This is one site I found. I'm sure there are more out there, but it's a start http://www.uechi-ryu.com/videos/u_tech2.html
  7. BB magazine like Inside Kung-Fu is just okay in my opinion. I've suscribed to both, and for the most part I've grown tired of their repetitive work. But hey, if you think that its worth something to your training and knowledge in martial arts, then go for it
  8. Its about timing and distance with a lil trickery I suppose...but mainly timing and distance.
  9. I like Nijushi-ho, but I wouldn't mind learning Nipaipo
  10. I had a stretching machine a long time ago, and personally I thought it was great. It did help me to stay flexible when I didn't have the time to go through a full routine. The one I had was a Century made one. It was one of their very first ones made, so I'm sure they are vastly improved by now.
  11. I recall the Shotokan Club I was in back some years ago went: white orange yellow purple brown X 3 black *scratching head.....I think
  12. Welcome 2 da forums

  14. You'll be fine with either Kamikaze or Addidas
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I often buy from them, and had not heard of the increase.
  16. Check here: http://www.zee.com/skmn/links/listing.php?cat=10
  17. If you can, video tape yourself doing your kata. Review it and see where you need to make improvments. Prepare youself mentally as well as physically. Many a times I would leave the mental game at home thinking my physical game and spirit can carry me through.....you need all 3 to balance your life triangle. Good luck
  18. In the small area I live in, we have but one real dojo in the sense of the word. It is an Okinawan based karate dojo since the instructor teaches most katas that are of an Isshin-ryu flavor. He teaches real good basics, and is very good with kids. Otherwise, there are some little clubs that teach kung-fu, judo, and I think Tai Chi. However, it's more like several instructors sharing space. So no McDojos as of yet, but choices are very limited
  19. Welcome aboard Isn't Zen Do Kai the system started by Richard Norton
  20. I just got it yesterday...bought it off EBay, and yes it will be what I carry with me most of the time. I had a Gerber folder which I can't seem to find right now. I also have my all-time favorite Benchmade, but I'm afraid I'll loose it, so I don't take it out as much
  21. My new favorite is my S&W Black Ops assisted blade opening folder
  22. That's good to know. Delta just up and disappeared
  23. Hey Red....where you been
