  1. I wont have a chance to test again untill fall since I'm leaving to have surgery on my wrist in just a few days.So I'll be out of commission for a few months. Have fun at training camp spirit at choice, tell me how Master Mary's memorial service was
  2. Just my luck! I've got the flu, so I'm missing my test at the moment
  3. Not all of them.Up untill green belt the tests lasted about 1 1/2 hours. It looks like from now on the tests are going to be longer.

  7. Hi! Welcome!!!
  8. Yikes! I completed the first half of my brown stripe test last week, thursday is going to be the second half, and I'm really nervous! I think that it will consist of free sparing, kata, and philosophy. The philosophy is realy hard, 27 sets of different concepts that I have to have memorized. For example: 5 firsts for friendship communicate smile care share forgive 5 sources of power mind body spirit soul ki I guess they start adding up Well wish me luck!
  9. With great difficulty. There is only one dojo in our town so I didn't have much of a choice in styles, but I love Cuong Nhu. It's getting harder to test becuase my instructors are not a high enough rank to test me anymore and it's hard to get someone up here becuase you have to fly in. And we also don't have classes in the summer because our instructors are commercial fishermen. So in the summer I have to train on my own. (rant over ) I am happy that we have a dojo here though, I don't know if I could survive without it.
  10. Perhaps you are doing the stretch to far, to fast. Try not haveing your partner stetch you quite so far at first and work your way up very slowly.
  11. It's really, rreally good. In general moose meat tastes like beef, maybe just a tiny bit gameyer, but not much at all. It does tend to be a little bit drier than beef because it has so little fat.
  12. we have used full contact on occasion at my dojo, but not very ofter. It kind of shocked me at how poorly some of my techiques worked. That of course just made me want to work harder.
  13. Karate most definatly, also I have natural musical talent, with both vocals and piano.
  14. What would risks of high kicks be? Personally I love using high kicks.
  15. congratz! (from another nice person to ruin your sarcasm )
  16. congratz! how exiteing you first baby!
  17. Hehehe. Well I live in Bush Alaksa ( that's off the road system) so moose is our main souce of meat, that and salmon. You wouldn't belive the price of beef here. Moose is actually better for you. Completely organic and the meat has only 1% ! Bush, Alaska? My ex is from Bush, Louisiana. Wonder who's town is smaller? Hers wasn't even on the map, though it is just outside New Orleans, or was before Katrina. With respect, Sohan no,no "bush" is just the term alaskans use for "off the road system" I live in Dillingham, about 2300 people in the winter. It is on the map because we are the bigest village on this part of the coast. The town gets way bigger in the summer because of salmon fishing.

  19. my mom's moose stew and homemade french bread with rosted garlic. Of course I usually get whatever everyone else had for dinner
  20. yep, arnica will most likly help. hope you side is doin' better!
  21. I don't think I've ever heared of such a thing!
  22. I think that in most casses I would stick with my instructor, it would be hard for me to leave the cuong nhu assosiation since our whole "family" is fairly close knit, hmmm.I guess it would depend on why he left the association.
  23. One option you might try as a sugar substitute would be stevia extract. It is a plant extract that is hundreds of times sweeter than sugar. For example to sweeten a 12 oz. cup of tea you would only need about 1/32 of a teaspoon! It's fairly economical since it lasts so long.
