  1. Ok . Maybe that wasn't the correct expression to say .. What I ment is sport TKD has no blocks . Of course ,they teach the same blocks as karate but never actually use them .

    K-1 Fighting

I have seen him fighting a couple of times , and I just checked his profile in https://www.k-1.co.jp , any way , he is indeed listed as NFL ,however I saw him wining the wrestling matches he had and his fighting stance seems more like a boxing fighting stance in standup fighting , and yes , he is a monster !!!

    K-1 Fighting

Bob Sapp is the black guy which his background is wrestling who K.O.ed Akebono lately ???? i heard he won the Japan G.P. !!!!
  4. And don't forget that having a strong body is another way of good blocking , of course that is only true when the hits are directed to the body not the head , and not to a vital point like the groin , neck , etc .......
  5. wu shu is flashy and include a lot of show offs , as a matter of fact I read once that wu shu was developed as a demonstration of what real shoalin kung fu was !!!!!!!!!!! Capoeira is flashy but very effective , and TKD has the best aerial kicks (flashy )
  6. Whats Kubota cup?

    K-1 Fighting

Why do you think that they suck ? Aren’t thry some of the best fighters around ???? Honestly , K-1 matches can prove to be brutal and only the top fighters can survive such environment , plus , these guys are from different schools , if different styles start to compete together under one fighting system then definitely they will improve .
  8. Karate was founded in Okinawa , developed by Okinawan people . Japan and the west may have influenced karate and helped spreading it , however , kara-te = Okinawa - te
  9. What part ??
  10. You can separate budahism from MA training , however ,you cannot seperate the spiritual values
  11. Those shoes are also used in karate , for instance , we have a pre black belt student in our dojo who never train without them , the type of shoes am talking about is very light , almost like u're wearing nothing and it is allowed to wear in competition ( Kyokushin , don't know about other karate .. ) however you cannot go out the dojo's walls wearing this type of shoes , loll .
  12. Steve Arneil is the chief president of the international federation of karate (IFK) , verry good instructor . There are other organisations of Kyokushinkai : 1- IKO1 ( International kyokushinkai organization 1 ) cheif instructor kansho Mastui 2- IKO2 3- IKO3 ( kansho Mastushuma ) and others , IKO1 and IKO3 are the most important organizations - from the way I c it - however Arneil is one of the best you should be thankfull that you had the oppertunity to train under him . And Kyokushin is not all about sparring , Kihon and kata are as important as kumitee , sometimes in my dojo we don't spare for about 3 or 4 sessions and sometimes we spare all the time .
  13. Oyama Sosai for karate , Kimura for judo , would also like to train under O-Sensi founder of Aikido
  14. I remember my first tournament , I was scared to death , I had to fight a green belt in my first round which scared me more , anyway , i fought well but lost , the second time I met that same guy ( I was yellow and he still was green ) I beat the hell out of him . Now we both are Nidan and I still beat him every time , lol .
  15. One that workes perfectly for me , from the fighting stance raise ur left leg like u are going to perfom a front kick and then perform a quick , solid mawashi geri to the ribs , i normally perform the full combination like this : left front kick , hand combination , right front kick , another hand combo and then the move mentioned above . Last time i k.O.ed my opponent using that combination.
  16. Second dan in Kyokushin karate ( i was graded 2 month ago )
  17. lol , Kitsune_no_tama . My highest achivment was about 4 month ago when i participated in an international tournament ( the 3rd mid east open kyokushin karate tournament ) and i was placed 3rd in my weight categorie , i think that was a major achivement since it was my first time to compete in a foriegn country .
  18. Kyokushin Kaikan Karate .
  19. I forgot to mention , Most of arts we do have similar points due to their origin , inheritance and the influance of one art on other arts . But don't expect to use your knees and elbow strikes as good as an MT guy do , and don't expect that an MT guy is as fast as a TKD guy , after all it's what you do in the ring !!!!!!!!
  20. i totally agree . As for the street situation , in a perfect world the theorie of one shot one death works Perfectly , have you ever applied that in real situation ??? Sure that in-ring action is gonna help you maintain your nerves and apply the right move etc ....... & sure you may be able sometimes to knock down your opponenet from the first shot , however , you would be surprised how much it could take to finish a human , and most of all , street situations are unpredictable . That’s were the effectiveness of an art appear , for instance MOST ( not all ) of Muay tai , boxers , Kyokushin karate-kas , BJJ guys ( just to name a few ) can handle themselves in a street environement while students under other arts fail . Why ??? a typical answer " Depends on the person " why always blaming the person ??why not admitting that some arts ( it's better to say some sports ) are not effective outside the ring ???
  21. I'd like to c judo returning back to it's pre WWII state . I think sports version of judo is not what kano wanted judo to be . And that fight sounds formidable , i'd love 2 c it .
  22. Different schools , different names
  23. What i ment is TKD connot survive in a full contact environment , thats why we don't c TKD guys succefully competing in k-1 or UFC .
  24. I think striking the opponent first will solve the problem,in the case were you can't avoid him , strike first , this way you won't wonder weither his trained or not cause he's allready knocked down .. lol
