  2. ahhhhh my shins are really wanting to hit something and feel it break right now! ok so now that martial arts cant possibly sink any lower anyone feeling the urge to destory a mcdojo?
  3. thats a good quote anyways it would have to be under MMA style rules(maybe a little less) because otherwise you give either strikers or graplers the advantage (yes i know MMA gives strikers a small advantage), if there was a TKD expert who wanted to compete and he got beaten by a Judo guy cause he dident know how to grapple then the Judo guy was beaten by a kyokushin fighter cause he didnet know how to strike the better fighters would still be on top regaurdless of who met who on the way up. oh yea a small thought who would be allowed to fight? would it be the best people from each style or would it be opean?
  4. not many styles can say that. but hey to each there own
  5. do both, if the teacher kicks you out for rolling with some guys he doent like hes not worth your time. plus im shure there are other strikeing arts in your town.
  6. JUDO PROS 1. usually tought very well 2. great throws 3. proficient at ground game 4. usually good conditioning 5. makes you tough (takeing falls over and over) JUDO CONS 1. takes alot of hard work to make the throws work 2. no strikeing 3. other styles have better ground fighting 4. little stand up locking 5. use of Gi JIUJITSU PROS 1. very well rounded 2. great stand up locking 3. focus on self defence 4. training with resisting partner (most of the time) JIUJITSU CONS 1. sometimes little conditioning 2. better strikeing available 3. better groud fighting available 4. sometimes not well tought 5. uses Gi BJJ PROS 1. usually very well tought 2. usually good conditioning 3. groud fighting second to none 4. quick to learn (basics for SD anyway) 5. resisting partners BJJ CONS 1. no standup (or very poor) 2. little stand up locking 3. poor takedowns compaired to other arts 4. use of Gi (most of the time) i would go with JJJ for SD as long as the school is a good one

  8. wow that big of a cash diffrence? why do any of the top athletes compete in UFC?
  9. LOL i can only imagin you reaction. ROFL
  10. well give some money to a homeless person and hope your good karma gets you threw the tournament unscathed really just go and have fun it no big. if you get hurt you get hurt and its your fault for geting cought in the technique that got you hurt. relax take a deep breath and go compete! AMITABHA
  11. well there is a U.S. millatary presence there if im not mistaken so you may have more than a few training partners, plus Judo and Muay Thai are very good arts in my humble oppinion and are usually tought very well. not to mention im shure there is at lest one boxing gym if your interested.
  12. well folk style wrestling has the best takedowns of any art by far and it gives you great mat awareness, BJJ and SW have the best submissions. judo has great throws and sweeps and there groundwork is pretty decent. Samboists have good takedowns as well with decent submissions but lack some holds, GRW is good in the standing tie-up and so is freestyle wrestling. AMITABHA
  13. i like pride cause you can stomp and the fighters are better, i dont like the ring and the bad standup times
  14. good post, although there are good ninjitsu schools out there most are poor quality
  15. i hope one day it will happen, i have always wanted to know whos the best and without a world tournament it will never happen what do you think for the rules? no biteing/eye gouges no groin shots no shoes no strikes to the neck? no twisting the flesh no spiting no putting the fingers in any opeaning or cut stop when there KOed or tap gloves by choice? no small joint manipulation? (just a little to dangerus i think but i would love to see it) what would the ring be like im all for an octagon cause thats the traditional martial arts ring but any other ideas?
  16. haveing formerly taken capoeira for nearly a year i would say that it is more of a dance that a fighting style, although there are those who can pull it off. it really fun though.
  17. no offence to any karateka but i would say if your looking for quick self defence Jiujitsu is better than traditional karate, although if you really want to learn defence skills try S.C.A.R.S or Krav maga
  18. unfortunately my thaiboxing instructor was deployed at a diffrent base so i now just do boxing for strikeing but i still train with my former thaiboxing partners on sundays, if you replace jiujitsu with MT you get my former training schedule, i was really disapointed when MT was no longer available but then jiujitsu began to be offered during the time i took MT so i guess im lucky.

  20. well i think the best time to practice is from sunrise to sunset, for me martial arts has always come first but i would say that if you dont plan to make martial arts your career do your home work it will only help you.
  21. a sneak up rear nakid choke if things got violent and hope the other guy can hold his own untill the guys out.
