  1. Unless your one of those who take only 2 classes. I was looking through the book of student schedules and I saw a junior taking only two classes. I attend a private school... so I don't get why the junior is only taking 2 classes. Might as well get the most out of your money since you still have to pay the same amount.
  2. I used to airsoft a lot, I was considered the most accurate pistol shooter. I remember leaving a welt in the exact center of a guy's forehead (we were just wearing goggles) I don't airsoft any more.
  3. The problem was that everyone around him wasn't dancing around. I think he was just making a big production out of the hot stage.
  4. Yup, I agree. I think it's reasonable to give an estimate for a minimum number of years. I think for an adult, it's reasonable to get your BB in 3 years (if you come to every class and train your heart out) For anyone under 16 or so, I think it should take at least 4 or 4 1/2 years. I agree that no dojo should promise or guarantee a BB in a certain amount of time. I think the students should have to test and try very hard to get a belt, not have the belt just given to the, I think it should also depend on how often you come to class. In our dojo, we require students to attend at least 70% of classes offered to them.

  7. Welcome to KF, Willannem. What style do you train in? Enjoy the forums.
  8. I think so too. I think when you do an art and love it, you can call yourself a MAist.
  9. I didn't pull him out and I wouldn't have, but I wanted to know which you think would have been worse looking, him dancing around of a BB pulling him off?
  10. We had a demo today. In the beginner group, we had a boy probably about 7 or 8 doing kihon. The problem was that the whole time, he was dancing around (jumping up and down from foot to foot) I guess the floor was too hot for him or something. My question is: would you have taken him off stage right then and there, or would you have let him finish the demo?
  11. The name Casale sounds a bit familiar.
  12. almost 15

  14. Hello, welcome to KF.
  15. How did you put the magazines in a binder? Was it a 3 ring binder or what?
  16. Ditto. I don't like music during training because it is not traditional. It distracts everyone. We are doing a demo on Saturday and we had to practice with the music. It's kind of annoying... it turns it into a dance/ show instead of karate.
  17. Hello, I've started using a GRIPMASTER light tension hand strengthener. Do you think this will really help me develop my fingers? Do you have any experience with these? Are they really good? Also, I've been doing a lot of pull-ups. I can do 15 without stopping. I always hear stuff like it's not good to lift heavy weights when you are younger because it stunts your growth. Will doing lots of pull-ups stunt my growth? Thanks in advance.
  18. Yes, with a crane kick (I'm sick of hearing that one too.)
  19. I'll put in my 2 cents: I think it hurt the MAW because people use it to make fun of martial artists (wax on, wax off)
  20. What do you think The Karate Kid (the first one) did for the martial arts world?
  21. Welcome to KF. Ranking: the only thing that's important to know if you get black belt at 1000 posts
  22. Shift back and as he follows, do an attack like a reverse punch.
