  1. the point i was trying to get to earlier in the article was the amount af kyu grades popping up some say from 6, up to 12 kyu,s before shodan i understand its a confidence and charcter building thing but i think its alot to do with instructor greed -------the more gradings the more money----------sorry if you didnt understand and dont agree with me

  16. can i take this one step further on etiquite please ive travelled to different dojos within my style and while in seiza normally instructors do not bow on sensoneri and bow on taganerei with everyone else although at a very repultable club the instuctor bowed on sensoneri and not on taganerei why would that be when sensoneri is bow to sensei and instructors and taganerei is bow to dojo and all present do i understand this right PS SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLINGS
  17. ive studied the picture and dont really understand your point i always though maegeri was striking with the ball of your foot in a forward motion not kingeri upward motion am i wrong?? picture further on shows ball of foot doesnt it or is it just the timing of the picture taken ps havnt we made the kata more difficult than it was meant to be

  19. get your kata right and your fighting looks after itself one should be done hand in hand with the other ive been training years and still find things in the first kata i ever did difficult to understand and probly never will
  20. i feel martial arts in general is as much a battle against westerners way of thinking as technical ability get your mind right and the rest will follow no respect in the dojo means your minds not right i may be wrong but showing respect never hurt anyone
  21. does anyone agree with me when i say its a western mentality to feel they are achieving somthing the more kyu grades there are if so why do we need to feel this or is it down to money for instructors????????
  22. italian_guy i should not worry too much about falls and throwing i am nearly as old as you and although ive been diong karate for many years have recently started jujitsu and the dont expect you to fall or fly all around the dojo if its a reputable club they will learn you all you need as you need it
