so am I left handed those of you who practice wado will be aware of the 2,4,6,8, & 10 i find working the opposite side of wado khion far easier to pick up than right handed partners (mainly beacause khion and basic blocks were designed for right handed person) do you feel its easier to pick up opposite stance partner works left or right sided i know this might not be important but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im a left handed too but dont really favour left or right (well i dont think so ) grappling i agree theres no difference -

can i tell you my little story i started training at an early age reached junior black belt soon after stopped training for a while (girls and footy LOL) started back as a senior at another club (same style) as white belt achieved 1st dan after 7yrs--------------- i have been doing jujitsu for around 1yr and wear a white belt my point being the colour of the belt loses importance the more your involved ------ rank is a western need for motivation and not important (my thoughts anyway) -

you may favour a side but when it counts in the street you wouldnt even realise left or right just do what comes natural do we believe in muscle memory?? -

i think kicking above tudan is very stupid you are over committed and vulnerable unless its competition but each to there own (or is it that im probly too old now to reach jodan LOL)

AMEN kata is very important good kata teaches timing, focus disapline (sorry) good kata means good kumite

believe it or not on and off for 20yrs 8 as a junoir then quite a long break been back about 9yrs jujitsu just 1yr you seem to have alot of knowlege do you read alot

thanx equaninimus i like the kata but still find it very flowery compared to all other wado katas doesnt resemble any of the others you mention ive tried to count the moves is it 106????????

not to many beginers like seisan kata but done correctly with meaning it teaches you lots of things dropping the hip being very important

i feel each to there own some grade quick some slow it doesnt really matter it a self gratification thing grades are not important
