  1. Anime's cool. Ever seen AKIRA? That movie rocks. Princess Mononoke is also a great movie.
  2. For hobbies I hang out, BMX!!!, play soccer, play basketball, build and launch model rockets, and that's it.
  3. It's sort of weird. I used to not like the net and this summer I have becime addicted to it. It chech e-mail at least twice a day mostly three times.
  4. These are all cool relies. The favorite fight that I have ever gotten into was at one of the high school football games. One of the fans from the other side came over and was calling us things that I don't think wold be appropriate on this website. I just slipped behind hiim, put his head in a lock and he took a little nap while my friends squirted ketchup and mustard all over him. When he got up it was the most histerical looking thing that you ever saw.
  5. I was wondering what was your favorite fight? the one that you can remember so clearly when you just opened up on your opponent. How did you win?
  6. I'm not mad when I get killed in the ring. Pain is good for you.
  7. Breaking boards promotes self confidence and self awareness of your own strength. My grandmother always says, "Joe, you don't know your own strength", and then I remember that I can break a wood board with my bare hands and it amazes me. If you wnat to break a board but you can't try these tips. 1. Do not focus on punching the board but focus on punching through it. 2. It helps me to imagine that there is an energy within and when I punch a board I imagine my energy flowing through my hand. 3. Confidence is KEY!!! You can't be afraid of hurting yourself. Trust me, the first time you'll be surprised at how little breaking can hurt. If you follow these tips over time breaking will be like second nature.
  8. I'd kill for karate to be more popular. love it and love watching it. on te other hand, there would always be those losers that would use karate that they had seen on t.v. on each other and they would go around hitting people. I guess it's sort of a catch 22.
  9. I'll answer with a question: Would you rather be blocked or make contact?
  10. I like it. If I were to go deeper into that I'd like to wish that when Osama is found they beat him senseless before killing him.
  11. I catch the punch with my right hand while I thrust kick to the groin w/ my left foot then still holding onto his arm I go under the arm which locks his arm behind his back. Finish with an iron palm to the side of the head with your free hand. It took me so long to perfect this confusing combo but it will take out your tougest opponents if mastered.
  12. That's cool! I put it in my bookmarks.
  13. If you're worried about gettin' your a$$ kicked you should open up on him. Many people lose fights cause of a lack of confidence. Know that you can kick him and take him down. Wait for a chance and place a good thrust kick to the groin. See if he goes full force again. You have to let him know "Hey, watch your a$$ when you spar with me or it'll get kicked." Good luck to you. I hope that my advice does you good.
  14. If you want to get your jump kicks higher you should lift weights that require you to lift with the legs. You'll develop an amazing vertical jump and will have time while you're up there to execute a great spin kick.
  15. I saw the monks and they were incredible!! It's an oppurtunity that you shouldn't pass down. They do things that are unimaginable.
  16. I am currently only an orange belt so I have not even started to see the beginning of kata. Hypothetically speaking of course. I was at an open session at my dojo the other day and the most interesting kata that I saw was the one that I am practicing. It is basic but effective. Geksai da ichi. It means attack and smash and it was developed by chojun miyagi (the creator of goju ryu).
  17. What two forms of martial arts do you think would be the best to crosstrain in? Why?
  18. I recently taped the iska weapons competition on t.v. and I was wondering why they kiyai so loud and long. If you have ever been to a weapons comp. I thought you would know and could tell me so that I may be more enlightened.
  19. What is your favorite kung fu form and why?
  20. Do you have a special spot or time when you can meditate the most or with the most peace?
  21. I usually meditate by finding a sunny spot and lying in it. Once I have been lying for at least five minutes I then visualize a dark swirling element in my body and I visualize it flying out through my chest and it is replaced by a glowing yellow warmth that concentrates and relaxes me.
  22. I would dodge it and let him put all of his strength into the punch so that he turns himself around and then a thrust kick to the back should put him on the ground.
  23. I'm not trying to be mean or anything but how long do you think that your hands would go against a katana?
