  1. cool, thanks for the input.
  2. Interesting. The one hit kill is called the Dim Mak if I'm correct. i wonder how you would practivce that safely.
  3. what is your favorite kick?
  4. Yo momma's so dumb when she got locked in the bathroom she peed her pants!
  5. Has anyone heard of the 47 Samurai? They are a great legend in Japan. I just recently found out that my great great great grandfather was one of the 47 Samurai. Just a cool bit of info.
  6. This is very off topic and I'm sorry for that but I just heard from my mother that my greatgrandfather was a black belt in Judo and his store was getting robbed so he beat the crap out of the guy robbing him and the cops had to get him off of the robber. Just another story to show that you should never mess with someone that practices the arts.
  7. I saw Lord of the Rings. It was great but the ending was disapointing. I was reading the book but after seeing the movie I am sorry to say that I am stopping the book. The movie was jsut more exciting.
  8. Does anyone here take hapkido? I've seen demonstrations and they are very interesting. It seems to me that Hapkido is a system with lots of locks and kicks. Can anyone further my knowledge on this type of martial art.
  9. This is an interesting one. If you build your biceps they won't help you in arm wrestling. The motion is not the same. You need to build the correct muscles to execute the correct moves. I hope that helps you.
  10. I think that ronryu definitely has a point there. Earlier i said that a straight punch was most effective but if you lunge into it your power will amount to be much greater then it was before.
  11. Sanchin is about mental, physical and spiritual preparation. The movements may come easily but you will not truly understand until you mind is clear and you focus your chi.
  12. Karate is a great art to practice and the basic techniques do not have a lot of variation. I am glad that two karate practitioners share the same views, it tells me that what I believe is correct and if it's not, at least I'm not the only one that's wrong.
  13. My goal for the new year is a bit tough but I'm up for the challenge. I'm 5'6" and I weigh close to 160 pounds so as you could guess, I'm a bit overweight. I've already started weight training and doing cardio and aerobic exercises and within the next year i hope to be well proportioned again. I'm not talkin' like Bruce Lee skinny but not fat sounds good to me.
  14. A couple of days ago my mother told me that the night before I screamed in my sleep and when she came in and asked what was wrong I mumbled, "I'm just practicing Gek-Sai" (a goju ryu kata). The weird part is I mumbled it in my sleep. Has anything like this happened to you people?
  15. About closed fists and open hands... In sanchin there are closed fist punches and open hand tears.
  16. No martial arts are bette then others. You need to be looking for something more specific then just "self defense".
  17. I think that a straight punch delivers the most force and a side thrust kick deals amazing damage. It's a shame that these attacks are very easy to block and counter.
  18. I plan to train and crosstrain like mad and then I will enter tournaments to keep up with myself. I plan to also have another job though. I could never leave martial arts. It's showed me a world I've never seen before.
  19. True. The idea of cybering though. You would think that you'd have to get some sort of weird messed up hook up for your computer and buying one of those might be strange and embarrassing.
  20. I second that. Merry Christmas to all!
  21. Thanks for all of your input guys (and girls). Keep 'em coming!
  22. Hey it's christmas!!! Merry Christmas all!!!
