Scissor Hold
sansoouser replied to sansoouser's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
well, it's like your going for a head loche but instead of grabbing your hands together you just leave the open arm across their throat and squeeze. And yes it leaves you open but you bend them over to, it's very painful -
It's like you are going for a headloche with your arm ( in this case your right arm ) and your left arm comes across their inside throat with the outside of your forearm. Like this /\ then you just squeeze with both arms and it will pop their head right off. You also grab your right arm just above the elbow with your left hand. A little pressure and they tap, i've never had to use even any pressure at all....

My dad and I came up with a new hold, well call it the scissor hold. It's like you are going for a headloche with your arm ( in this case your right arm ) and your left arm comes across their inside throat with the outside of your forearm. Like this /\ then you just squeeze with both arms and it will pop their head right off. You also grab your right arm just above the elbow with your left hand.

does jumping rope get you into as good as shape as running? what are the benefits and bad points about each of them? But mostly, which one gets you in better shape?

I taught myself to fight at first, and I could beat all the guys I faced, ya I took hits trying them out but then I would get mad and unleash a fury on them. But yes I did teach myself, mostly boxing punches and defense manuvers, and the basic low kicks to the groin and knees or shins. The only good thing about it is getting to try your stuff first hand and not slow motion to a willing opponent, but it's not safe to go out and fight, so unless you got nothing to lose then don't do it. Fighting isn't a game, it's you trying to beat down your opponent, and the way I see it is be taken or take them. I guess I am a natural fighter to though, most people say I am anyway.

in road work do you run all that you are going to run in one workout time? I read that rocky marciano ran 7 miles a day, did he spread them out or run at the same time.

if he has your leg or legs and is trying to lift you, lean forward and straighten your legs then pound away at his head or whatever. -
kata application helpful for real fighting?
sansoouser replied to aznkarateboi's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
to me it's exerciese, that's all but I do practice step ins for my throws to get the motion down fast and swift, so it improves your reflexes and smoothness in your techniques, so in a way it's helpful in physical atributes but not in real fighting, it just boosts your speed and overall smoothness. -
The word "Style" is misleading.

well saying you do baseball or football is different, because they are different sports but ma's are all ma's just using your body in a different way instead of a whole new set of equipment. -

hmmm You could say I do Judo style and San Soo style, but I wouldn't say I fight with a San Soo style, I fight more like JKD even though I've never studied it. I adapt what I like then use it. I don't do a o soto gari for a win, I did a throw. It doesn't matter what technique you used, you can find out after you won. -
