  1. i agree warpspider, just nodding your head won't row the boat. In the words of the wise, the tiger cannot surpass the brains of a man, and so he shall never be superior over the smaller weaker opponent.
  2. as the fly dodges the hand, the swatter full of holes he cannot sense.
  3. I've found ways to tell when someone will attack by just looking at their eyes. But my strategy is attack on defense. I don't let up until I cannot attack anymore or they cannot.
  4. if you are angry you fight sloppy, you may have more power but you are unclear in your agressive state. Fighting calm and smooth, make your enemy become angry and charge you like a bull, let him use his anger to further his destruction. More force comming at you is just more momentum to throw.
  5. for a thousand dollars? You must think you are a great fighter, because just if he beats you doesn't mean he can take alot of other people. If I was fighting him I would just grab his kicking leg and take him to the ground, arm bar or choke his butt out. I tap guys out like type writers.
  6. well a reason i like judo is because it's full out force. No slow motion actions or light or no contact it's what you wanna do. So for me it's funner than tapping my partners throat with my hand.
  7. the us army training manual says " strikes can't incapacitate someone quickly. " So that being said they do teach strikes, but there moto is less amount of effort for maximum effieceny. Sound familiar? Ya its judos. And they teach just about every judo hold and throw. Mostly all their finishing moves are chokes, not striking, like a throw to a choke then knife them or whatever.
  8. what is your attitude when you fight? Mad? Agressive? What ever it is sare it with us. I fight just like my quote says. I am the mirror on your wall, you move I move. Your moves become second motion to me. As if each part of our bodies were connected to each other with straight sticks and each time you attack I moved out of the way and strike. I am not mad in a fight, your mind must be clear like a sunny day, if it fogs like a foggy day, you become telegraphed and not a fighting force. Fighting is a game to me, life is a game, and rest assured I don't lose. Clear and sunny I shall stay while you fight angrily and wildly, telegraphed and slow. Laugh at the world or fear the world, to many people worry to much. Fight for life, fight for fun, fight for the right. If you fight with a clear mind and your intent is just, believe in yourself, your style means nothing in a fight, it is a word you claim to do. If you say to yourself I do Karate, and think through your moves you have lost. Your "style" has to be a reflex just the same as blocking a ball being thrown at you, thinking about not thinking and reacting like a mirror or shadow.
  9. he going for your stomach so pound the top of his head. Kick his shins, hit his collar bones.
  10. san soo, or chinese street fighting is a very brutal art. It has everything in it, yep that too. Yes and that. What did I just say? Ya, well it has everything, biting gouging, joint locks, chokes, throws, striking, uuuh like I said you name it. Yes, for the last time it has that too.
  11. no it's not as brutal as san soo, but i do like the free fighting randori, it's fun and good way to learn
  12. nono, lol I like san soo but like i said my instructor is gone for a year so i am trying out judo now. San Soo is still really good because it teaches all aspects of fighting too. And dirty stuff
  13. How do you think judo compares to your self defense art like karate or kung fu, krav maga whatever it is. In self defense aspects.
  14. in judo you learn to fight while having fun? Well, for me yes. You do randori and use all of the force you want so it's not light or no contact it's full.
  15. yes, it would be but I have another thread on sport being better than martial art, because you learn to take pain but anyway. The throws in judo are very effective on the streets, people get broken arms and elbows, mostly elbows because they try to break their fall in the cement and crack.
  16. go to here http://www.judoinfo.com/video5.htm and click on anyone can learn karate
  17. i dunno i don't do goju ryu. Martial Arts were invented for fighting, take away that and you can go paint.
  18. please guys... study the art before you comment on what is was made or what it is for. Jigaro Kano said only black belts should be taught the strikes, that includes eye and groin striking. But they are not used in competition, just for self defense. So the real judo has throws, ground work, striking, includes punching, kicking, chokes, arm bars it has every aspect of fighting in it. These are just some of the techniques, Ude-Waza (Arm Strikes) Ago-oshi (jaw push) Ryogan-tsuki (strike to both eyes) Suri-age (forehead thrust) Tsuki-kake (punch) Tsukiage (uppercut) Yoko-uchi (side blow) Naname-uchi (slanting strike) Kirioroshi (downward cut) Ushiro-dori (hold from behind) Ushiro-ate (rear strike) Ashi-Ate (Leg Strikes) Ryote-dori (two hand hold) Gyakute-dori (reverse two hand hold) Keage (kick) Mae-geri (front kick) Ushiro-geri (rear kick) Yoko-geri (side kick) Ashi-fumi (foot stamp)
  19. TKD does alot of kicks in every aspect, it's mostly a kicking art. And if he's doing high kicks can't you dodge or grab his leg up there? High kicks are bad in a fight, if you can't get those then you'd be in real trouble if he was doing low kicks to your knees.
  20. goju no one does religious things in martial arts in dojos anymore. Find me one dojo where they have you meditate for an hour or read ancient scripts. It's all about fighting.
  21. please don't put words in my mouth sano, I never said you were evil. You need to practice watch him fight other people.
  22. i have no style to sano, and probably like him you can't beat guys like us lol well you know I include myself on this category of being born just ready to fight. I took no training at first but I could take anyone. Then I took San Soo, that works well. I am now taking judo so I try to use throws now, but most of them are to dangerous I found because people were breaking bones because lack of landing skills. Sano..... You never back down? He who runs today, lives to fight another day. Acting tough and being tough are very different. What I do against street fighters is wait for them to make a move, I am short an agile and like to use my speed and short burst of power. I can't teach you to fight with words to express anger is to lose. He who is skilled in combat never becomes angry He who is skilled at winning never becomes afraid Thus the wise win before the fight, while the ignorant fight to win
  23. is tai chi fast? You can make anything fast if you are fast, watch my grandma do wing chun instead of tai chi and well.... there goes your theory
