  2. ^^is that john billy bob jimmy joe jnr you're talking about or john billy bob jimmy joe snr. It couldn't be the pet cow john billy bob jimmy joe the cow now could it?
  3. Im a sempai (asst.instructor) so I only pay for 1 out of 3 classes per week. Thats all I have to say. I just wanted to brag. Seriously though: £5 per class for one person £4 per class for two people training together £3 per class for three or more people training together
  4. I would be very shocked. We teach all the basic blocks punches and kicks to new students within a couple of weeks depending on the lesson plans. Sometimes they can "learn" them all in one lesson, just not properly is all.
  5. I found that within months of doing 100+ pressups every few days my wrists would hurt if I tried them palm down so I only ever do them closed fist.
  6. Shouldn't be a problem, although you really shouldn't be palm striking people in the face anyway

    A Question

Right, lifting up it doesn't make much of a difference no, but anyone trying to push you out of stance will find it harder if you are gripping the floor.
  8. Simple maths means that its $15 or £10 per lesson, thats a complete rip off.
  9. I see what you mean now it is seiunchin, it was just when you said "The starting salutation thing", that made me think of the chineese salute in bassai-dai.
  10. The students in question were 10 and 12 year old on average...it does sound all that bad. Smoking in a dojo? no thanks if I saw a supposed instructor doing that I would turn on the spot and leave.
  11. Assuming he doesn't wipe the floor with the guy and get even more overconfident.
  12. Finally something about Physics I can agree with...or understand
  13. 9 mouths ?? I wouldn't bother trying to work out when you will get you're black, it doesn't work, I've gone through some of my higher grades faster than I did my lower ones.
  14. Instructors, contrary to belief, are still human and can find things funny. You don't have to be doing a technique wrong to set off a chain of events that will have people in stitches.
  15. ...exactly
  16. LOL I think the UK version is fairly similar in the London region...
  17. A good exercise I've posted somewhere else on the forums is too tape a balloon to a punch bag (or have someone hold against there stomach) and try to pop it with a punch. Beginners usually struggle with thsi because they aim to hit the balloon. Try it yourselves. Hitting through the balloon will pop it, hitting the surface will not..unless your holding a pin or something
  18. Well jump kicks often send belts flying no matter the colour but I still stand by my conspiracy theory. Incidentaly why is it the belts (hair to for those that have enough) always hits you in the eyes and not just the cheek or something???.
  19. Does it matter, all will fall to the power of the benysaki.
  20. It could be Kirves NOW-ex-girlfriend if she reads it Funny though.
  21. Nah, I much prefered my version.
  22. LOL good one.
  23. Don't forget Billy Jo Jim Bob's son Billy Jo Jim Bob Jnr. Or his dad Billy Jo Jim Bob Snr. Or ofcourse his new grandson Billy Jo Jim Bob the 3rd. Then theres uncle Cletus - but he doesn't really count because hes a bit funny in the head even for a hillbilly, probably because his mums his uncle.
  24. Anyone seen a dog trying to catch flies, succeeding, looking proud, then dismayed as it flies out again when they open their mouths again.
  25. I did once bow on my way into a swimming pool, a life guard told not to dive in..
