Theres a pretty well known website out there somewhere that tells you everything you could ever need to know about ninjas. Seems pretty genuine, im sure some of you know the one im talking about...

Saifa is probably my second favourite of the Goju katas that I "know" (two at the moment...) so have fun learning it.

Maybe these people live in the walls, or are just very small and go round saying heh and cool alot when the y see the big people doing smething. Then again most people would find someone doing kata at 3 in the morning slightly strange, and monkey has mentioned a few times that shes not the tallest person... so someone watching her battering a punch bag that could weigh more than her like it was nothing may just think it was cool. More likely trolls in the walls though.

I train with a guy who has a third dan in shotokan and about 25 years experience at karate, hes v.good and has used his karate successfully on the streets many times (his home town used to be the heroine capital of england) besides that he only weighs in at about 9 1/2 stone.

Ofcourse they do but thats ok because thats what karates all about. I have really strong leg muscles from standing in crane stance for every 1 1/2 hr lesson. Well in one anyway...

^ Thats a pity when things like that for ce a school to be closed down. Sauzin, you say an instructor should only get paid what he/she needs to live off, why? There are very few people in the world who accept subsistence wages because they want to, what you are suggesting would make their lives harder to live than if they paid themselves enough to live comfortably and funneled the rest into the school?

Im fortunate enough to be training with my sensei three times a week with only 3 or 4 other students, for free aswell, no point to the post just bragging... Honestly, I would say it depends on the cost, the level of instruction (ie amount of improvement over group training, and the individual recieving the training)

Its basic human instict to find a way of being the top dog. For some this may be being the highest grade karate-ka in the world etc: but for most its being financially successful, it may be a pity but that doesn't mean its going to change anytime soon and even if it does we will just find another way of measuring success, perhaps we should go back to the old method of seing who can bash who on the head hardest?

A BB is indeed just another colour of belt but nearly everybody percieves it to be so much more, in the same way that a brown belt is nearly a black belt, nearly doesn't cut it. "I nearly scored a point" "I nearly bocked that punch" "I nearly stopped myself getting stabbed" Its the mediocre blacks belts who are really nearly black belts, they have the belt, now they just need the skills to go with it.
