  1. ...lots I would say.
  2. Sounds like you pretty much want to follow in the footsteps of Robert Twigger, so reading Angry White pyjamas would be a good idea as it will outlines some of the potential pitfalls you may face on your journey. Have fun.
  3. One of the guys I train with failed his Needan (Shotokan) because he knocked someone out when perform kata with oponents (to test application) he passed the second time round though.
  4. Never ask to be graded, but if you don't know why you were tested or the outcome of the test I can't see any harm in you asking your instructor what the test was about. It could just have been to give your instructor a clear idea of where you were with your training.
  5. I hate Freddy Prince Jnr for stealing my bride to be.. but congrats on the engagement.
  6. Yeah...what she said.
  7. The normal ones only have three legs, one at the front and two at the back, the mountain ones have four, however the lefts side legs are shorter than the right to enable all the Haggi to run around the tops of the mountains, makes sense really.
  8. Hey monkeygirl, have you ever seen a wild Haggis, because I live quite close to Scotland and I have, if so was it the three legged varity you saw or the lesser spotted mountain Haggis?# Valithor I would guess that Marmite is a more ... refined taste than Vegimite, you know for the more refined consumer. Thats why we shipped you lot over there anyway...
  9. Ah, similar to what they're doing over in the states then?
  10. Hmm, I boil wash my Gi every couple of weeks, and normal (hot) wash them after every training sesion. They shrink the first two/three times but after that they're ok. IMO get one thats too big then once its finished shrinking hem it up if neccasary. Boil wash also keeps them much cleaner than a cold wash does.
  11. LOL, one of the guys I trained with worked out that hes knows 40+ katas and thats why every so often he get half way through one and finish the last half of another...looks funny, especially when he doesn't realise what hes done.
  12. The worst style of TKD I ever saw was called Hu Flungdung
  13. We have a young girl training with us who lost her legs below the knees to meningitus, she either trains in a wheelchair or on her prosthetic (SP?) legs. Shes pretty inspiring, there are also quite a number of people in wheelchairs training throughout the club.
  14. Thats not exactly cheap... Whats this about unlimited training for $50 a month Valithor? oh and how much is that in sterling do you know?

    Seienchin

Different isn't always wrong. I do Seiunchin slightly differently to most of the ways shown here, from what I know the way I do it is more similar to a Goju-Kai style than a Goju-Ryu, who knows which version, if any, have the bunkai that first invisenged when the kata was "invented"?
  18. This and 24 chickens have got to be the best around, plus various sites on my own club.
  19. Anoyda, (SP?) one of the guys I train with got graded to his 3rd dan by Anoyda Sensei and said he was "a bit good". Dave Hazard sounds like someone to meet aswell.
  20. Author wise i read: Tom Clancy, Bernard Cornwall, Mathew Reilly - those are the top three in my list (in no particular order). LotR is good of course. My favourite book is normally the one ive just finished reading. I bought Angry White Pyjamas today and im nearly half way through already so it cant be that bad!
  21. 1 1/2 to two hours long
  22. 3 times a week at the dojo and whenever else i can.
  23. I make it 20:46 if that helps?
