most realistic
battousai16 replied to circa02's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
i think it's sad that blade 2 used realistic techniques and 80% of the fights were still computer generated. that fight scene in front of the spot light!?! come on!!! there limbs were flopping around!!! i think there's reason that most movies don't use realistic techniques; it dosen't make the movie half as fun. if i wanna see practical techniques being used, i'll go to the dojang, thank you very much. i don't wanna pay $8 to see some guy get side kicked in the chest. -
i prefer the term "child"; i can get away with a lot more, even at 17

"I know very masculine gay men. Don't be fooled, not all gays are flamers, and they are certainly not all wimps. (Gays on the whole are in better physical condition, it seems.)" touché. though all the homosexual people i know and who have come out to me are either tall and skinny or short and pudgy.

ok, comparison wise, i'll give you that, it's an epic and granted, milla jovovich is very attractive, but i'm not gay, and i hated the movie. and omega strain is coming out for PS2; although it will be single player, it's mostly supposed to be an online game. it's claim to fame is that you wont actually be gabe logan this time around. evidently, there are so many options in the "create-a-character" option that you'll be able to create your self.

"Lian: the big fenalietongiht, there going to blow up the expo building, theve packed the china exhibit with c4 its the structural center of the building Gabe: hey! yo! you know what im saying, like get yours selves outa here so you dont get all blown up. Lian: but gabe!- Gabe: litsen here adr-....Lian, just do it, you know what im sayin'? all like take care of the bomage.." i'd like to see that, actually wait, though... you LIKED resident evil??? oh, fireka

there's always something of value to be had from any dojo, in my experience, otherwise no one would go. i know my self way to well to entrust something so important to myself,

a syphon filter movie? never thought about that one. not a bad idea...
-
courtney cox, eh? hmmm... i would say the only sure way to get someone who looks like her and does a good job would be to find an unknown, cuz i can't think of any current big name actresses who could do well with her. gabe logan, however, could only be done with stephen segal. appearance, voices, awful one liners... the only thing that ol' segal dosen't have is dignity and stealth.

the mcdojo, just because there are other students in the class that you can learn stuff from and the chances are, as peviously stated, he's got to be competent at SOMETHING. he'll also probably have better equipment to train with and such.
-
as for weight, i'd get one heavier than you would ever possibly use. thatway, the muscles in your arms will get stronger and you'll get a little bit better control.
-
first up, how could you hate tom cruise? he's so awsome, and unbelievably attractive, near brandon boyd status and no way, i was very unimpressed with splinter cell. syphon filter was way better, i can't wait for syphon filter: omega strain. snake from metal gear solid was awsome, too.

"Alternatively, you could show up next sparing session with a set of grieves (medevil iron shin guards) and challenge him to a rematch! " i would go with this one, just to see the look on his face

hey, there's nothing wrong with ethan hunt. he's not as cool as bond, and his last movie kinda sucked, but that dosen't mean he can't hold his own. give him a little credit. also, i think never say never again is at least better than license to kill

i found a picture of bruce lee in a weird stance a long time ago, and i mimiced it and it's worked very well; i've been using it ever since, with some slight adjustments it's midway between offensive and defensive and it keeps everything covered, except occasionally my head will pop up and i get nailed the feet are far apart, but not much more than shoulder width, your shoulder is to them and, assuming your left leg is forward, you drop your elbow perpendicular to the floor with your hand up and in front of your chest, and you fill in that triangle shaped gap in the arm with your other fist. it sounds kind of like a typical boxing stance now that i read my explanaion, but it's not, really... uh... yeah.

tough it out what dosen't kill you can only make you stronger, right?

What's middle-America's problem with MA?!
battousai16 replied to Fenris-wolf's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
you have a bad eye too ? for the longest time i thought i was the only martial artist who had a bad eye (i had a tree thorn shot all the way through it when i was in 6th grade) and it's been giving me trouble in the martial arts ever since. and not because i'm worried about getting hit or anything, but because people go easy on me because they think i can't see them, or the reverse, they get really worried i'll hit them to hard. my depth perception is not that bad! ah well. good to know i'm not alone -
alright, i remember that.

yeah, about the spaghetti, don't eat it a half hour before. the night before is a much better solution that's what my cross country team does the day before a race. we get together and have a big spaghetti dinner. i'm sure it applies to MA. also, in regards to balance, are you tensing your stomach muscles? that seems to work for me. i was having horrible balance one day in class, and my instructor told me to do it, and i did, and it may have just been a placebo, but whenever i'm having trouble balancing, i just tense up my stomach muscles and i always seem to find my balance

well hey, welcome to the wonderful world of the martial arts, and welcome to the forums!

alright, lol, brit then. when i was younger, my teacher taught us that if you call a person from britian a brit, it's derogitory and they'll get all offended. i guess not and i assumed you were joking, don't take it to hard my favorite is sean connery, of course, he just can't be beat. but the typical man inside of me also likes pierce brosnan, probably just because he's geared towards my generation and sometimes i just can't help but skip to the scenes where he just goes on a shooting rampage and blows everything up men

"Kill you? Who says I want to kill you? I was just going to give you a nice steak from the butchers to show that Buffy fans are alround nice people... " just to show you that myster science theater fans are just as nice, i'll offer the potatos on the side
