  1. well, but that just brings us back to who has the right to just "write history"? shouldn't it just be written as it happened?
  2. btw, it may just be my school, but i only have a small hand full of teachers who teach both sides of the story. most of what i know i know from my father and various books i've picked up everynow and then. i don't think america's looking any more villainous now than it did when i was younger
  3. that's what i pointed out when she said this, we were sitting on a pier at a lake and all i could hear was the man made boat creaking, the man made cars driving on the man made pavement far off, and the man made door being slammed by some man in a cabin a ways away. granted, the sky was pretty do to the man made pollution, and i guess i could hear the waves made by the man made boats, but...
  4. true, but hitler had so much german pride, if you asked him his nationality he'd probably say "german"
  5. i'm again with ms. wolf, but i suppose a lack of music to some can be peaceful. my older sister dosen't like listening to music, i don't understand it. something about how "nothing manmade can over shadow natures beauty". but when she says it like that i sound like the evil one.
  6. gah! you all type to fast! but i think her point is (at least it is when i make it) is that the text books always say "oh, the wonderful americans recognized the evil in hitlers ways and saved them all because they're so generous".... i dunno, that's not how i ever percieved it...
  7. lol, hey, mine too!
  8. alright, i'll read up on that. but again, you seem to be thinking that hitler was just at the top of the latter, he killed quite a few people himself.
  9. ...first up, you can complain all you want about the name change, but i wont change anything. second, you all just lost me
  10. wow fenris, good point! i like you!
  11. wow were a lot of posts made in the time it took me to write that
  12. and i respect that. champs post, not fenris. well, fenris' too, but i'm reffering to champ-y. what i have to wonder is how you can spend 4 years studying hitler and WWII and still think saddam's boys are more evil, and, to reflect to fenris' good point, who are we to decide that? i'm thinking i don't know enough about saddam's sons. and, btw, i have to wonder why america has the right to write the text books just because we won it. it's funny that i have yet to see a school book that even make a vague reference to the japanese internment camps... maybe it's just the school district i'm in.
  13. have you heard taku iwasaki's samurai x soundtrack? brilliant!
  14. yeah, i was gonna point that out, but i decided to just assume s/he was a well read history teacher and had at least read the rise and fall of the third reich, mein kampf, kept up with the news better than me, and didn't just stick to the school issued text books.
  15. yeah, i know some super good jazz percussionists too. one of them has played at carnagie hall. or carnegy. or whatever. i dunno. blast my inability to spell do to my citizenship as an american the guy is insanely good. not to mention some other guys i know who are so good it boggles the mind. and then there's me, struggling to play 4-mallet 007 theme on the marimba
  16. perhaps, but at least they were upfront about it. hitler lied to an entire nation and brought them all down with him. and lets not pretend hitlers hands were clean from blood, i'm sure he alone killed just as many as saddam's sons. though i gotta say i don't know that much about all of what saddam's sons did, aside from a general idea.
  17. touché! who needs intelligence when you have guns?
  18. hey, be nice! drums can be very challenging! it's easy to do simple beats, but to do them with skill and IN TIME takes... well... skill. also, then you can divert into all kinds of other percussion instruments and it's very hard to do everything with good technique.
  19. btw, where were you during my debate with kchenault? i could have used the support!
  20. don't feel to bad about it fenris, i was brought up in contempt of my country too.
  21. and there you have it. that's really all there is to it. some martial arts were modified slightly to have a more point scoring style to them, but they still have fighting applications.
  22. i know, that's so weird! why is it so hard to hit a big, slow moving white thing?
  23. actually, no, not 7 foot. 6'3, 6'1, and 6'0. but they always stand/sit hunched over, and it's rare when they ever stand up straight. and then they do, and they tower over you, and it's, like, wow.
  24. i can think of 3 in my city alone, and that city is not very large.
  25. í don't do the rap thing myself. i also don't do the pop thing. i'm pretty open everywhere else.
