i like them quite a bit too, they are very fun to watch, and the music and such adds a lot of emotion. i've seen people do some truly beautiful things with them. perhaps i misread you, but did you say wushu is not a martial art? interesting... i don't see why things have to be all "martial" and no "art".

me and my friends just watched a really really bad movie ("death bed", in case y'all are interested), and one of the names in the credits was "dukey flyswatter". i thought that was a pretty cool name. or spicy mchaggis.

"Does anyone remember the Transformer toys? I used to get sooooo angry because I couldn't get the toy to go from a truck to a robot .... well, I was only 4 years old. I also remember trying to figure out the words to the theme song. "Robots in da eye", "Robots in the skies"...my brother and I went through several translations until we finally figured out (or maybe someone told us) that it was "Robots in disguise"! *sigh* Good times...'' hey, i second that. good times...

there can be. in my experience, the main difference between uniforms in schools is the color and logos slapped on the back. also, tae kwon do uniforms some times pull over the head instead of closing in the front.

TKD bashing?
battousai16 replied to NightShade_UK's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
but wait, if you're aware of the fact that almost all the TKD pracititioners in this forum don't do it for sport, why bash TKD at all? -

warp spiders got it i was trying to think of a word for butt that wouldn't be profane and for some reason the coccyx was the first thing that came to mind. -
uh... actually, and i could be wrong cuz i don't have boobs, but from those i've talked to, getting hit in the boob is nothing like getting hit in the groin... but either way, i'd say getting hit in the groin hurts plenty for females too, and don't forget young monkey girl, i could be wrong , but i believe that females are at a higher risk for cancer all around, so don't feel to safe in your being a female

an incident that happened last night, actually. i was at my cousins wedding, and i didn't really have much for clean clothes (i can be really lazy; i only do my laundry about once a month ), and i ended up wearing all black. by all black i mean black dress pants and a black short sleeve shirt with the frog buttons and such. which means my shirt was untucked and i guess, despite the fact i'd just shaved and gotten a hair cut, my parents stead i still looked sorta hoodlumish when i tried to justify myself to them. we got back home and i was bored and a little down so i decided to take a walk. and i didn't bother changing, because it was late in the day and i didn't see the sense in making ANOTHER outfit dirty. so i was walking, listening to some music, and looking at the ground, when i notice that i've crossed the path of some girl. we walked for a bit, and then i sorta glanced as she ran into her house. i didn't think anything of it, until i went on a ways, circled back, and started home, only this time on the other sided of the street. i was still looking at the ground, listening to music, and i see a shadow coming towards me and it's this big guy. i'm about to greet him when he pushes me over. he started yelling at me about stalking his daughter! evidently, she thought i was following her and stairing at her coccyx. so i stood up and told the guy to calm down, and he said if he ever saw me again he'd call the police, and i smarted off, which just made him even MORE mad, and he started yelling again, and i realised i'd better leave, but he threw a punch, an i blocked it and kind of nudged him back a bit and ran home. so let that be a lesson monkey girl, although he very well could have been looking for trouble, and you probably did the right thing, not all tall dark scary looking guys are evil. some of us just want to take a walk and listen to incubus in peace! and let that be a lesson to all you tall scary looking guys, if you see a girl around and you aren't gonna talk to her, go to the other side of the street and try to avoid dark colors. unless you're looking for a fight, in which by all means, do what i did. -
if she does take you to court and you're under 18, i may be wrong but it might not even be a problem, what with your being a dependant and all. it's sibling rivalry, not like you savagely beat her. still, like gino said, had you kept your cool then, you wouldn't be in this situation.

hey, i was reading the other night and found this story: there was this guy, a long time ago, and he was a martial artist. and he went about learning material as fast as he could to get up to the next belt rank. eventually there was nothing more that his master could teach him and he sent him off to his master. he traveled to the guys master, and they conversed, and the guy asked how long it would take to become the greatest karateka in all of japan (this story takes place in japan, you see). the master said 10 years. so the guy was like "wow, that's a really long time, what if i studied twice as long as your other students, how long then?" and the master said 20 years. and the guy was like "20 years!?! what if i practice day and night and cut my sleeping time in half!?!" and the master said 30 years. so the guy asked why everytime he said he would work harder the amount of time kept increasing. and the master said "when one eye is fixed upon your destination, there is only one eye left with which to find the way"
