  1. the point is @ tibby i wish to know the name of this art because i think it would suit me very well. but since i dont know it and since i am not able to give a decription that is detailed enough, the chances seem to be very low.
  2. what i forgot to mention, one of the weapons (the only weapon?) it involves is a staff and dealing with multiple enemys is part of the training.
  3. what weapons do you learn @ chick? how is that possible?? pls explain inhowfar they can be applied. i myself as well thought a staff might be a good starting point. its not as easy so hurt urself with a staff than with a nunchaku for instance.
  4. yeah, thats true @ shore

  10. ok - imagine a guy states as follows (in short): 1. stretching is a waste of time 2. its better not to stretch before doing sports, as a warm up so to speak 3. stretching does not make u more flexible the arguments are: 1. there have been discussions about the sense and effect of stretching when he was young. 2. newest studies indicate that he is right. any opinions?
  11. sport only?
  12. i wondered about the difference between self defense and street fights myself... i agree to that. and as well to the statement that too few arts teach multiple opponent fighting cause i guess 1on1 fights are rare indeed.
  13. sadly i dont know ur talking about. could u tell me about PDR or maybe give a website pls?
  14. no, i dont, but there is a thread regarding this in this channel. http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=7336&start=0 and btw: yes, it would

  20. training in the arts is said to make u more confident. if that does not help, go up to the mirror and tell urself that u r cool/good looking or whatever...
  21. welcome to KF!!
  22. posting off-topic stuff is gay j/K
  23. if u wish to stay fit u might want to do a martial sport more than a martial art. there are arts that absolutely dont bring u into shape, but are very good for self defense (hapkido for instance). judo and tkd are a very good workout as far as i am concerned. maybe u could give a liste of what is available in your area and what u might want to train?
  24. i was interested in this style. i think it is very good for many different purposes, but i was shocked by the pile of weapons it involves. i am not sure which of those are required for belt levels so i hesitate. i visited a site of a german dojo in a city that is too far away from my area to attend regular training though. there r very few ninjutsu dojos in germany so i dont know whether i'd ever be able to train it. but as to ur question: i heard of it
  25. yeah, kind of... that makes things more difficult for me as well i was talking about some japanese style if that helps. focuss on strikes and kicks more than throws and joint locks. i am not sure but i think there wasnt even any kata... but i am really not sure.
