  1. lol, why thank you iamrushman
  2. What I mean is his body won't have developed to the full extent...so yeah, I suppose that is a growth problem.
  3. I'm not sure whether or not weight-training stunts your growth...but I wouldn't have thought a 14 year old should be using heavy weights...if he isn't his adult height then he isn't his adult size, and heavy weight-training can cause damage to his bones and muscles.
  4. You should look after your back...tsk tsk. LOL, just kidding...looking forward to reading the thread.
  5. Sorry for being ignorant... ...but why do you need to keep your eyes open all the time?
  6. Sorry to bring this topic back up, but the key thing to get right when stretching is your breathing...inhale before the stretch, then exhale as you go into it...that way you won't go too far and strain your muscles.
  7. I was quite fond of that while belt..I don't think I had it long enough
  8. It is a yoga stance. LOL at taezee and shortdog...that probably works best... Sweetie?
  9. Thanks for your kind offer Iron Arahat! The soreness only lasts throughout the following day and then the next morning it's ok...it's kind of like a "my body's not used to this" pain, but my body is used to it. But yeah, it's probably a good thing that it hurts...and if it didn't maybe I hadn't worked hard enough. Anyway, thanks for the advice everyone... And thanks again for the offer...
  10. I would have thought it would only be about 10% Hardly any of my friends I don't know through my class are into MA...or maybe I've misunderstood the question.
  11. Glad to hear it!
  12. Hi, good to see someone else as new as me. Happy posting.
  13. I hope he answers, there's a few things in that list I didn't know. Um..what was I going to say..oh yeah, SKIPPING. Skipping is a good way to burn fat from your thighs, just as many and as often as you like. Also, squats...in some scientifical research thingybob, it says that squats are the best way to burn fat from your thighs. But I suppose with all that panicking you're doing waiting for a response from Ken, you'll be burning enough anyway... Just kidding...
  14. I would stop at both the "I'm pooped" pain and the injury pain...the injury pain just gets worse if you don't stop, and the other..well, it's no fun having to roll out of bed the next morning because you can't sit up....
  15. Three slices of buttered toast and a cheesecake with chocolate sauce...woah. That must need about 3 hours of press-ups to burn that off. Just kidding...hope you enjoyed it *drools all over the keyboard*
  16. I know what you mean about the addiction and having to get another one once you've got one...and much as I regret getting this one done...and the pain that went with it...I've on more than one occasion considered getting another. Every now and again I'll get the urge to get another...an angel on the other side of my back, to match the devil...but then something happens and I don't get it. I really could not imagine getting a tattoo on my foot...I'm not very good with pain. As it is happening that is...I recover straight away. That's probably why the tattoo hurt so much...because I felt the whole thing (which took about 45 minutes) but then as soon as he was finished, I didn't feel a thing....whereas my friend was numb after a couple of minutes but was in pain for about a week after it. Well...there's my essay for today
  17. Aww, poor you. Still though, students have the most fun. I think I'm going to be a student for the rest of my life...doing a degree in philosophy right now, but changed my mind about 300 times. What are you studying?
  18. LOL, believe me defenestration_girl parents do not stop being overprotective when you turn 18...or when you turn 19, or when you get your own place, or when you have your own children to look after...oh well. I'm 20 until February like everyone else, and wish I could have stayed 19 forever...19 is a good age, don't think I'd like to be 16 again though...you can't drink alcohol.
  19. If you haven't done any running/jogging before I would start of easy...it's not hard to get an injury from running from the strain you put on your ankles and knees. I would suggest starting at a maximum of 2 miles a day alternating with a rest day...and only increasing by a maximum of half a mile each week. Or, going by time...try running for a 5 mins followed by walking for 5 mins for a maximum of 30 minutes a time for the first week at least.
  20. I think this has something to do with how supple the muscles are...you could try stretching exercises. Just a simple stretching exercise like standing with your feet three feet apart and leaning over to one side..so that one leg is bent and you can feel the inside of the other thigh being pulled. Also, practise makes perfect.
  21. I wouldn't worry about it...it's mainly because they hurt if you aren't supple enough. I'm sure the problems with the hips are in a minority of cases.
  22. Couldn't you travel to another town? I mean it would be a bit of a hassle but if it means you get to learn exactly what you want without having a threatening, abusive instructor. LOL at the message above.
  23. Glad to know someone else finds weight-training so boring
  24. Wow, thanks...I didn't know that. I just assumed it had something to do with not being supple enough or something.
