  1. horrible argument...of course it ultimatly comes down to the fighter...what he is trying to say is most things being eqaul a MT fighter would dominate a TKD stlyist the majority of the time.
  2. why in the hell does everyone compared all shotokan fighters to that video clip? that shotokan karate ka didnt even attack he ran right into the BJJ stylist. A shotokan karate ka wouldnt run right into him, with out even attacking, he wasnt a good fighter. whats funny is you have never experienced BJJ to any extent...if you did you would realize the same thing would proabably happen to you.
  3. yes shotokan is 100% complete and perfect in every way!
  4. um...that is a very broad question..
  5. think about recoil when you are punching.
  6. Yes it is perfectly fair and any reasonalable person would assume so..If George Bush said he wasant a good grappler I would proabably belive him along witht he rest of the world. If i Made Millions fighting with my hands I wouldent spend alot of time learning to fight with anything else...I dont think yo understand how much time a Pro boxer spends training.
  7. Im a fan of both.
  8. yes im sure your right..i bet top boxers spend alot of time grappling so they can train less in boxing whitch is their job.
  9. I think every one else has said enough...it's hard to even comprehend your argument or where you would come up with such ideas.
  10. I would say it could be useful in most situations..a throw can end a fight pretty quickly on the strett...although it would be better if you cross trained in a striking art to some extent.
  11. Mike Tyson would be the standup figheter in the UFC or pride..If he learned how to grapple and learned how to avoid takedowns he would proabably be one of the best fighters in the world(outside boxing) Mike has incredible KO power and few would be able to stand with him. He would also need to do some cross training in Muay thai so he could learn how to deal with leg kicks and not get KO'd by a knee from the clinch. but that will never happen..there isint enough money in the NHB for him to put it on the line.
  12. Im considering it..it is offered as a Credit course at my school and I think I would enjoy it as well possibly pick up a few cool throws I have a pretty solid foundation in Standup fighting and It think it would go with BJJ nicely.
  13. you are wrong..i dont even know where to start with a statment like that..
  14. I mean if another stlye does something better than you should learn those techniques if possible...certain stlyes have specialty's and as such they are usually the best at it. Boxer have the best punches wrestlers/judoka have the best throws/takedowns Muay Thai fighters have the best knees and clnch work What im saying is you can always learn and improve from other stlyes and to not do so because of "loyalty" to your own stlye is rediculous and will limit your potential.
  15. Blind Style loyalty is what keeps people from achieving their potential.
  16. because TKD generally trains you to do the reverse of what you should do in a fight.
  17. It wasant funny to begin with and it still remains that way.
  18. A 16 week course or 32 hour long classes in Judo would get you... just looking for opinions on how quickly you can pick up judo. Thanks Guys.

  20. Boxing generally produces very tough fighters..mentally and physically..more so than many stlyes. it may not be the most complete system and certainly has downfalls..but boxers have the best hands int he world and hands are usually the most important thing in a fight. Boxing+ grappling is the way to go
  21. I bet if you ever actually walked into a BJJ school alot of your thoughts would change...I can tell you have never sparred with a good grappler..everyone thinks thinks alot of things until it comes down to it...i would suggest finding a BJJ school and see if anyone is up for some NHB fighting.
  22. What single technique is garunteed to work and end a fight everytime? I bet it's a bit harder to put up a strugle with one arm or one leg..most would loose the will to fight when they saw the arm bent the otehr way. Then You dont know what your doing..let me get you in a choke and you will be out cold in 8-12 seconds no matter who you are..it dosent matter how big or strong you are. A properly applied choke is one of the most effective fight enders out there. Yes I would never put someone in an arm-bar unless I planed on breaking it. Yes if i was stupid...so if you got your arm broken the first go around you would come back and hope for better chances with one arm'? I would still rather be bitten then have have one of my limbs brutally broken..and thats assuming im not wearing jeans. Rear naked choke...and in most situations your arm would get broken before you knew what happened if someone really knew what they were doing. SO now grappler should worry about their opponets kicking them in the head while on the ground ..i bet thats a real KO kick.
  23. not if they have any idea what they are doing or have any wrestling ability at all.. well they must not have been very conditioned and I cant even imagine what sort of goofy shoot would allow someone open for a kick to the stomach..
  24. The side kick is not used in traditional Muay Thai..MT uses a square stance so it is not practical...the only time a sidekick would be used is if you miss a round kick or something and spin around.. it is taught it just is not used much...most prefer the front teep kick because it's more practical front a MT stance.
